Having just bought some JDM calipers to refurbish I came across these on eBay. Is there much involved in adopting them for a Z32 ? Is there perhaps an adaptor kit that would take any grief out of the situation ?

Any thoughts/advice gratefully received.

You can buy an off the shelf adaptor for them but are expensive, I'm currently in the development of a custom bracket which uses 345mm diameter discs :-)

Hi mate

Is that going to be just for the fronts ? How far are you from completion ? :-)

Do you know where the adaptor kit is available from ?

Just google Evo z32 conversion and you will see some different ones, I'm limited by funding at the moment, brackets designed, but need sample disc and prototype bracket making for fitment check

If my plan works the discs will be very reasonably priced to replace, I have the calipers ( front only) they are HUGE in comparison to the oem calipers

I'm trying to reduce the pad overhang in comparison to the alpha omega ones. Evo discs come in 320 mm and 350 mm the calipers used by omega are up to Evo 9 and the discs are Evo 10 hence the pad overhanging by 3mm , I'm hoping with the 345 mm it's reduced right down

I have EVO VIII front calipers with 350Z discs at the front (see pic). I also have a diagram for the adaptor plate required for these. Let me know and I will post it up here.

Cheers,

The diagram is all in metric sizes and also some pics of the bracket in position. These pics are from an old member here "krsmayo" I believe. Some are sceptical about the bracket, but I have had no issues in using them at all.

Ide have no issues using that bracket...great post mate, have some rep:wink:

I too have the same bracket type and works a treat, although this is going back a bit I paid about £280 for some calipers from an evo 8 which included discs which are still on garage floor lol. You have to take an angle grinder to the hub as well but its no big job, also the z brake lines dont quite reach so you'll have to get some lines as well evo ones fit.

Paul, very good point about the lug and lines........ I completely forgot :(

It took me almost a year to get my calipers, watching the bay and always getting outbid... Grrrr. Finally got mine for £140, just calipers. I did split them, sand blast, new seals, rebuild, then a complete spray, decals and lacquer.

On another note..........

When I got my brackets made (By a very good friend on here ;) ) I got a Magnetic Particle inspection carried out on them for any flaws in the welding, just for my piece of mind, and they passed with flying colours..... Great welder, I must say :)

If anyone is thinking of having these brackets made, I can offer this service to any member here for £5 plus postage either way. I have an NDT department at work and this is what I gave to the guy for doing mine (just a drink for his time).
