use a small blade screwdriver to prise of the thin metal wire clip, then you can pull off the connector. While its off give the pins a good clean.

So yours looks like it's a Series 1 then. If you have the HICAS modulator in the inner wing to the left of the PAS pot, then yours is without question a series 1.

- Series 1 ptu's were also fitted to series 2&3 z32's.

- Similarly, series 2's also have hydraulic hicas with the modulator, the electric hicas came in for series 4 I thought?

I thought S2s had the revised PTU? I spend too much time on the US forum! haha. S2s were fitted with them, in addition, they were also a standard factory recall on S1 models.

Yeah I heard that actually, didn't happen over here or Japan though. I assume that's where they get the name 'series 2' ptu from, bit misleading!

Indeed. My PTU is actually from a US breaker. One of my friends (who's the owner of 3ZC has about 10 of the things in his back yard and whenever I am over there, I pilfer bits off of the cars there. I paid $0.00 for it. :)

Just need a LHD passenger side sun visor... 2 x vanity mirrors. I need to be able to see what spots to squeeze or what's lurking up my nostrils.

Cheers

now wtf is a PTU?

google didn't help any on this - its either Punjab Technical University, the Police Tactical Unit or a drug to manage Grave's disease (whatever that is but I don't think I want it)

Oh yeah I am pretty sure I have that thing too - though I have a hicas eliminator so it is not doing anything useful. I was thinking of removing it and then fitting some skins on the inner wings but now I think i will fit the skin beneath it, and spray it red as it makes the engine bay look 'busy' if you get my way of thinking here

Oh and does the metal spring clip thing move forwards to realease, or to the wing?

cheers

It is possible someone got sick to death of the damn door mounted belts and switched over the uk style. I'm damn well considered it a few times myself.

I'm pretty sure it's been done a few times, the provisions are all there it just needs a nut welding in the b pillar to mount the top bolt. It's not just a uk thing by the way, all jdm models ditched the door seatbelts from series 2 onwards (late '92).

Oh yeah I know Joel, was just pointing it out regarding the confusion over the actual production date on his car.
