And for the record Si... I haggled too, and got it for £1.98k

Nice one Baz......

Good luck with your new project matey!!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

You wonder why people buy a car like that and treat it like an old Mk3 Astra.

I think part of the problem here is that, to a lot of people, this would simply have been a late 90s Nissan.

Not everyone sees Zeds in the same way we do, especially if it's an NA auto one (as I believe this one is). Presumably there are plenty of folk out there who think that only the TT variants are worth any kind of interest, hence something like this not seeing much love. :(

One thing I am a bit disappointed about is that Baz' new car doesn't have the 99 spec headlights. But other than that, it looks a nice buy and certainly looks happier after a bit of a wash! :thumbup1:

What's the interior like Baz has it got the gold colored clocks ? As they come in kilometers and need a mph face.

It was when Tim sold it which is where those photos were taken from (his original FS thread in '12).

I am on my phone and can't make that clock out is it still kilometers?

don't think you can zoom in on them old ancient fones gary.. lol:tt2::tt2:

It reads in MPH, clocks look cracking at night (red illumination)

On a side note roobarb, do you know how many purple zeds there are in the UK?

Yeah. Mines in mph but it was like that when I bought it

That's good that they were able to change them and keep the gold face plate.

I'm off to look at 99 spec cars for import now......

Expect to pay £8k-£10k imported/landed. TBH, a TT Manual should still fetch good money. I think Baz got a bargain on this due to the unloved state it was in, the terrible ebay ad and photos.

Reading in mph is one thing but having the legend on the clock say "mph" as opposed to "kph" is another. When I got mine, I did find a dial face place in the UK which would clone the gold face but I needed to get them out and send them off, then pay through the nose for the privilege of having them prototype something they could then sell! So I didn't. My solution to mph indication is this:

ECUTalk2.jpg

Which also reads error codes and other stuff as well. So my clocks are original OEM in kph. The red illumination is great as is some of the warning lights (hold, o/d, power etc) coming up in the clocks themselves.

My guess is that roobarb's and Baz's may read in mph (converter) but the legend still says km/h.
