Has anyone tried the Armour All Shield "better than a wax" yet...?

If not, allow me to save you the trouble. It's fooking shite!! Despite the good reviews in Auto Express, I am far from impressed - I used it on the Merc yesterday and it certainly started well, so I tried it on Julia's Rav this morning....

....And it was very dissapointing. So much for it needing no buffing - on a black car, it just smeared and left unsightly marks; and the sun was not properly out and hot first thing today!! And to make matters worse, when I looked the the Merc after I had finished the Rav today, the paintwork felt "tacky" and I could feel the dust had stuck to its surface.

So a good going over with detailing spray - and then an application of some proper wax/sealant, it was better. So to be sure, I did the same to the Rav. And sensibly decided not to use it on my ZX this afternoon!!

It's so disappointing; and the Shield for wheels is bloody brilliant! My SLK produces vast quantities of brake dust, which really spoils the AMG wheems after a few days. But when treated with Armour All wheel shield, the wheels stay clean for 2-3 weeks if I don't get the chance to wash the car!

So to conclude, I don't normally bother; but tomorrow I'm sending the stuff back to Armour All with a stinking letter telling them how disappointed I am with their product (they offer a refund is you're not satisfied). And I advise you not to bother using it. Better than a wax - I think not!! Stick to a proper wax IMO...

I just love straight shooting reviews,LOL thanks Richard:rofl::rofl::rofl:

What's happened to the swear filter recently lol? recently I seem to be able to swear like a trooper without any stars. Not that I moaning, nothing wrong with blue air just a bit confusing.

Nice honest to the point there........rofl....

I must admit to either MER, Autoglym or meguiars..... Tried loads of others over the years but now stick to these depending on the car...

I do find some polishes work better on certain paints....

I will avoid Armour all shield though.....lol

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

I'm an Autoglym and Meguairs person myself too..... Although to be honest I do highly rate Turtle Wax Extra Gloss Sealant as well. It's bloody brilliant IMO and really seals in the shine and lasts for months. Personally, a good polish with Autoglym SRP, followed by a Meg's Ultimate Liguid Wax - and a then give it a coat of the Turtle Wax sealer stuff; and the shine, finish and water beading lasts for ages!!

I know that there are sealants out there which are probably way better than the TW stuff - but considering it costs under £10 a bottle, it's an all round bargain!!
