So I got Greddy TD0516G turbos. I also have a veilside evolution cat back exhaust.

I'm wanting to get 3" pipes at the front. I can find test pipes but my problem is that I can't seem to find any down pipes with the correct stud pattern for the turbos (3 bolt triangle). The turbos currently have the standard greddy turbo elbows.

Anyone got any ideas of do I need the front end of the system making?

Thanks mate. Just to check though (cos I'm thick), what do you mean by a flange, or what is it exactly?

the flange is the shape on the end of the greddy turbo you are trying to join to. You will need a triangular 3 stud gasket to go between the elbow, and whatever decat/downpipe you use, much like this:

if you find the right size gasket for your greddy elbow, then this very kind chap is going to make a flange you can have welded to whatever downpipe/section that you pick.

it would probably be easier to get this made, or modify some japspeed decat sections/downpipes to take the custom made flange as made by the fellow above ;) Any decent welder should be able to help.

Don't the downpipes usually come straight off the turbo and then meet the test pipes? I'm wanting 3" downpipes if that's possible and then just do away with the turbo elbow. Or do I need to keep te elbow and then have another bit of pipe going from the elbow to where the test pipes would meet?

Sorry if I'm sounding stupid here

these are japspeed 300zx decat pipes

these are standard turbo elbows

the end of the elbow with an 02 sensor sticking out of it joins the turbo

the studded end joins the decat triangular flange.

the greddy turbos you have, must have an equivalent of this rusty looking elbow. thats what your downpipes will connect to.

the other japspeed divorced downpipes, come straight off the turbo and look like this:

these do come straight off the turbo, as they include new elbows. These will not fit your greddy turbos, so you need to find out what elbows are on your greddy turbos, so that you can have some downpipes/decat pipes made to fit. I think it would be quite easy for someone to fabricate if you cant find a ready built one, and wouldnt cost as much as you think.

And here is some spare elbows i seem to have. I'm guessing they aren't the standard ones so must be spare greddy ones.

They are 2" at one end and 2.5" at the other - I can't be sure they're identical to those on the car but I'm pretty sure they are. I'm guessing the turbo outlet is 2" wide??? Not sure if anyone would know

The elbos you have on your engine are the same as standed mate...meaning normal down pipes will fit straight on be it 3 hole down pipes with the cats or 3 hole decats. Ime almost certain there 2/12" ID.

  • Author

Yeah they're 2.5" but I'm wanting 3" all the way through if that's possible. Most decat/test pipes I see don't seem to go up to the elbows and seem to be for the divorced down pipes. And it's those I don't seem to be able to get

hey mark, i think there is already a gated screamer pipe in the setup above no? correct me if i'm wrong, but i think i see it poking out behind the elbow, with a large wastegate actuator thingy in front of it

my only concern there being, i only see one on the drivers side. shouldnt there be twin actuators, and 2 screamer pipes. one for each side.

ignore my last post, there are wastegate actuators on both sides, just the screamer pipe setup on the passenger side is a touch more intricate!

yeah in the pics of post 8 there is but for some reason i thought they wasn't your pics ...

and u only had standard down pipes and decats
