• We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

I know my centre boot trim as a broken leg, apart from some minor scuffs it's in great nick so I thought i'd get the one out of my LWB donor and use that but can you spot the difference .

I cannot possibly use a LWB part on my car , instead I've had to mend mine, so I used the mitre superglue activator kit stuff then for good measure used supafix adhesive with black reinforcing filling powder, I don't want to flex much atm to test but it seems a strong repair.

It also shows how much deeper a SWB boot is.

Joel...I've got one of those too!

I just tried it and it worked great...if a bit noisy!....should work even better when I apply my hydrophobic coating just before the NEC :thumbup1:

.......oh no....I just read that back....and it's worse than I thought!

If someone had told me I would spending money on one of these 2 years ago...I would have laughed out loud!

Have you tried this yet Gary? I just pitched it to my wife as a Christmas present, she’s still laughing.

Isnt a compressor and blow nozzle exactly the same? The blow nozzle i have on my compressor would blow water out of anywhere

..

It has the added bonus of being able to power airtools and painting guns too lol.

You would think a compressor with the right attachments would work fine Paul. I have a compressor but its to small for this type of work I need a bigger one. (Story of my life)

Lol, never thought I’d boast about this but I think mine is smaller. :blushing::blush: I brought it back in the day when I had time for model making.

well i decided to start on my dashboard swap.............

Wow nice mess good luck. Hope new dash is easier to fit.

1997 Jaguar XK8 Scraped ☹️

Wow nice mess good luck. Hope new dash is easier to fit.

i have a few things to do whilst the dash is out, i need to relocate and mount the alarm as it was just tucked up under the dash, i also need to re-run a few wires that have been added for the alarm sensors/ dab aerial etc plus i have bought a small pioneer amp for the audio so i want to make sure that with it's wiring are neatly tucked away somewhere.

How hard is it to remove the dash without damaging it?

it's no to difficult when you have removed the interior trim etc, mine was already damaged and broken so i didn't worry about not damaging it too much. but the replacement has been removed undamaged so no reason why it shouldn't come out in 1

today progress, found a new location for the pioneers amp, just need to sort the wiring, rerouted the wires for the alarm interior sensors, dab aerial and hand free mic, i ran these across the top of the dash and strapped them to the main loom. mounted the alarm box out of the way, but still accessible if needed. remounted the driver door vent ducting (under the dash). then replaced the dash into position, it's not bolted it yet however and i just need to reroute the rear foglight wire (the red wire hanging out) but i couldn't be arsed to move my van out of the garage to get to my soldering iron lol.

Few bits turned up from Z1 today. Great service - ordered 23rd. OEM viscous coupling and fan (on offer at great

combo price), cabin air temp sensor, OEM det sensor and Z1 harness and bonnet/support repair kit (cheaper than

buying the hinge covers separately).

Project 1547 - Out of the Blue

She's so fine, there's no tellin' where the money went - Simply irresistible.

Ok, now im seeing the issue haha..

I bought one from BnQ for about £100 with a 24 ltr tank. Its ok but the tank is still quite small so the compressor runs up very quickly once you start to use the air, its pretty powerful though so will do for most jobs needed right now but maybe in the future I'll upgrade.

As for garages, im in the process of designing one for my new house if it ever goes through, looking at a double size and tall enough to get the car on a set of lifts which i also plan to buy.

Still a dream at the moment but providing things go to plan, should be a reality soon!

Good luck with the house sale Paul :clover:

Not much in the last few weeks .... too much snow and road salt for me to even think about taking the "Z" out of the garage.

My '90 300ZX 2+2 has only 62,000 miles, and has always been garage stored, covered, since day one (especially in Upstate New York winters - Yuk).

Hell ... "shes" never even been driven too much in the rain (absolutely no rust). Was transported out to Newport Beach California once then moved back to

New York City area, and will most likely be transported back to California (Palm Springs area) in a few years (she's looking forward to that).

"She" somehow thinks that every day ... all year round ... must be exactly like the last great warm sunny day "she" was taken out of the garage for a drive! (Hah).
