  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today I fitted a new alternator belt and attempted to make one good climate control cluster out of two duff ones. Turns out both of them have broken screens so yea that failed. If anyone has one available please let me know.

Washed it and took to for a 100mile drive. My second drive in her and I can't stop smiling when I'm behind the wheel.

Can't wait till the 20th to come and see a few of you at the South East End Of Year. [emoji1360]

See you there Edd, its a shame because I could have brought one but its now gone into storage and not available until December. Could have kept it back if you known earlier. If you give Baz a buzz I'm sure he can post one out to you.

Ok. I'll search him out dude. I've got a growing list of bits I need for it. The more I look the more I need lol. Joys of it being laid up for two years and owned by an old couple for the last decade.

I'm sure you guys will be able to point me in the right direction for stuff when you see the car etc

Tell me what you need and I'll bring what I can to the 20th

Haha. Assuming you have a ton of spares then bud.

Gimme a few days and I'll have a good hunt over the car. It's just little bits atm.

Will give you a shout though. Cheers

I may have to try and get to you before that happens. Either in the car or van lol [emoji848]

HUGE thanks for Stephen, Ash and Will coming out yesterday and lending me a hand. I think I am set on getting it done so hopefully will be back on the road soon.

Nothing - it didn't want to wake up! Started immediately without some cylinders, so I killed it and from there it was turning but not firing.

Would a discharged battery cause this? With the old one it wouldn't even turn if it was too low...

Yea I wouldn't think a low battery would cause it not to fire, it just wouldn't turn

So is it not starting at all now? Possibly flooded. If the battery has enough charge to turn the starter, it won't have problems with the injectors.

Maybe, but I wouldn't have thought it could flood in such a short space of time. I gave up pretty quickly and didn't try to diagnose as it was very early and I was making a lot of noise as it is! Will have to check later.

You'd be surprised!

Whip out the fuel pump relay and turn it over for 5-10 seconds, then try again.

Ah, just like with a rotaty engine. Not sure why I know that as I've never owned one

My dad doesn't mind. He's the one that gets to drive it ?

Contrary to what most people think, I think the rotary engine sounds horrendous.

If you include the R26B in that, then we're very different people!

If I ever have €30,000 or so lying around, you can expect to see a ridiculous 20B-TT conversion of a kei car, straight pipes and all...

Sounds good only at 4000rpm and above.

You see these huge turbo 4 rotors that sound like they want to stall on idle that sound pathetic, as you state like a farting snorting pig, but when they run quicker they sound good imo. 10k rpm :D

Depends on the porting. I don't pretend to understand it, but it's only the particularly extreme, race-oriented porting that makes it sound very lumpy at idle.

Possibly similar to race engines sounding horrible at idle due to massive valve overlap that only comes into it's own at high revs. NASCAR sprint cars look very uncomfortable behind the pace car!

Da went to take a look in the afternoon and it started fine. Reckons just condensation on the connectors.

Ordered a CTEC trickle charger for the winter anyway. Just to get fuel stabiliser too now.

When My car was not garaged and used all the time it was very hard to start in the mornings, and often stalled half a dozen times before running ok. Since it has been garaged it starts first turn of the key and runs perfectly. I think the new Loom will help a lot. I am also going to spray all new connectors with water resistant spray my cousin has imported, it's amazing stuff, can use electrical items under water.

Clutch master cylinder out and I started to get the clutch pedal in... I now see why this job is so arduous.

Can anyone point me in the right direction of how to get the top bracket above the wiring loom to where it bolts on? I have the two cylinder bolts through.

I guess I have to take it off again and slide the bracket in first and then put the bolts through.
