• We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Those blades look pristine!

Glad you have found the fault.

Get it fixed asap then you can come to Trax at the end of September for another play session:thumbup:

My old ones look like that after it had sucked up a few litres of puddle water, what do you reckon did that??

I reckon all the chunks of tyre from the drifters chewed it up.

That looks healthy, not.

What a shame no choice but to fit the gt675's hehe

Would like to know what did it, it's on brand new 2.5" pipework and ba intercoolers and new z1 pop chargers, so there should have been no contamination in the intake, maybe it's from the shaft snapping, although I remember hearing a strange noise seconds before the issue started...

There's nothing there now, will flush everything with brake cleaner before its refitted just to be safe.

Finally fitted my underside engine cover, looks so much better not being able to see through the bumper onto the floor!

Be interesting to see what the full extent of the damage is, turbos gotta come out for that.

Be very careful about the oil feed. Could be the bearings failed/worn due to oil starvation and the shaft play that's resulted is the cause of the impeller damage. Obviously if your not 100% that enough oil is being presented, in the correct way of corse, you could end up killing the new turbos. Careful investigation and progression required. I spect you've already thought about this though, your not a dummy.

Luckily the new turbos come with all new lines/ drains water hoses, but it is definitely concerning. The other side has play but is not damaged at all.

Some play is normal with journal bearing turbos mate. They rely on the oil to create a floating effect, effectively hydrostatic pressure.

Thrashed an Audi TT from a standing start at traffic lights....

I know, a bit boy racer, but could not resist.

I have to say, I was supprised at just how easy it was....

I did this ... Not sure if its the right thing lol at least I can remove it anytime

Me neither, if I'm honest mate.... Just like "ZTT" "ZXTT" "SWB" etc etc etc....:nono: IMO, best sticking to the normal "300zx" on the rear light centre panel, followed by OEM or enhanced OEM "Nissan" and/or "Twin Turbo" badging.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Not for me that. Badges should be OEM or absent in my opinion.

I had one of these badges for a short time until I was hit with copious amounts of urghh and that's not right..

In my honest opinion, if you like it, keep it.

If you're not sure about it, take it off. But do it sooner rather than later cos the uv actually will leave the mark where it is.

Mine did after just a month!

Good question Andrew - I didn't think of that. That will teach me to over-look the bleeding obvious:oops: I'll check tomorrow before condemning the tank, thanks!

Did you check your over flow/ expansion pipes mate?

Unfortunately i didn't get a chance to look at my spare zed ovef the weekend as been stupidly busy but if you definitely need the parts let me know and I will check when I get home from work tomorrow.

As always, didn't get anything done on my zed but did manage to stock pile yet another couple of parts for when I do get going.

1 - new rear lights (thanks mantav8)

2 - brake brace thingy to aid the huge ap racing brake setup (thanks iainknight)

Cheers, it's not a very condition seat, but I got a pair free so I can't complain. Apart from having the controls back to front unless you resolder them, you will also have to splice some power from the drivers side to power it.

It wasn't really that difficult, you have to grind off the spot welds for the seatbelt bracket, and also find a way to attach the the switch to the other side, I made a metal plate that supports it.

Also if you want a mint one, there will still be two screwholes in the opposite side in the leather, but they are on the inside by the trans tunnel so you can't see them.

Would people like a write-up??

Yes!!! Write up!

Start a seperate thread and give us a blow by blow write up

Had the tracking checked and adjusted today ahead of a little road trip to the Picardy region of France next week. Chap that did my car couldn't believe the condition of the underside. He told me it was like working on a new car. Everything span off nicely, no need for any WD40, let alone heat. Told me 12 month old cars are harder to do and sometimes take some effort to get the steering arms freed up!
