  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

What a beauty

New tyres fitted today, all set for Coventry.

Also has somebody got a link to the thread with the interior fan buzzing noise by the lights? Or is it a simple job of prying the panel off and unplugging it?

pry off map light housing and unplug, simples :thumbup1:

Thank you. No screws or anything?

I drove to Bury to pick up an NA bottom end for my spare engine build over winter, dropped it into the boot of my A4 saloon, broke the floor....... opppsss.....

It was a very tight fit.......

Got home and now waiting for a friend to help me shoe horn it out again...... lol

Now all I need is somewhere to put it that is dry and accessible........

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

Fitted MeisterRs! :) Finally happy with the ride height! Much more compliant ride and that's with only the rears done!

How stiff do you find them?

Mine are on max-soft and almost no pre-load, so they feel much nicer than my Teins were. I am running different poundage springs than would normally be fitted to 2+2s. They come with 6kg (rr) and 8kg (fr), but I've fitted 6kg to the front and 4kg to the rear. Very supple ride.

Got my seat frames today, nowhere near the right size, but was a gamble, and they'll make life easier for the fabricator,

Rerouted the wires for the dual wideband to s more neat and permanent location, removed my electronic exhaust valves, we're only there for late night returns and track use, but I've better bungs now so their redundant.

Supposed to be doing jobs on the blue one ahead of next weekend but that'll have to wait till tomorrow.

Sounds about right on a street car, 6-8 is a bit more track inspired and 10-12 like what I've got is erm, probably track only.

It's fine on good roads, sadly we don't have many of those in this country. It's the little roads where the buses and lorries chew the road up that are annoying. The worst bit is patch repairs, when Nynex (remember them?) went around laying all that cable they left these bits of mis matched Tarmac, sometimes it cuts straight across the road, acting like a 1.5" deep and 8" wide reverse speed bump, these are the devil. Feel uncomfortable in the van, in the zed there horrendous and because they cut across the whole width you can't even dodge them. The main road by my house is dire, gravel lorries go up and down it all day.

I'm actually planning to drop the spring rate, maybe even as low as you and Joel 6-4, as the Bilstiens I had before were plenty compliant with my other mods. The car tends to skid on poor surfaces which hurts acceleration.

I did tell you you'd have a terrible ride with your setup. I find the rear end really compliant now, less crashy than my Teins were. Really quite impressed! Looking forward to fitting the fronts and having a full alignment doing as mine is out!

Finally got round to replacing these bubbled bits of trim....

I'd call it unpractical instead of terrible, if the road is a good one it's good and the car handles really well, so much more predictable, it's just the poor quality surfaces that are annoying in every car are vastly worse.

Good call Si - I am still happy with mine....

....And that's pretty much where mine are! I didn't want to ruin the GT-car ride quality - yet at the same time maintain decent handling. And the Meister Rs work very well on both counts. I didn't go too mad in dropping the ride height either - it's just enough to leave a subtle gap between arches and wheels:bow:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
