  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Yep I know:)

Had a go at making a little show plate today.. Using some old perspex and some unusual techniques, I ended up with a half decent looking plate. A little rough around the edges of the lettering as the masking tape was turd and the perspex isn't scratch free unfortunately but at least I've got a little plate with my forum ID on now ready for japfest.

Test fitted to the car.. Looks OK I think..DSC_0242.jpg

Hey Ev, I'm just about to do that to mine too.. Was it much of a pain in the @#s?

Oh and whilst I remember, I've got space for a couple of people if they want to camp at Silverstone Saturday night..

If you're interested, give me a shout..

I'll repost this on the Japfest thread too..

You'll just need your sleeping bags.. Light and heat supplied..

Your ID plate looks ace!

And not at all, be patient, then I used a super thing blade and took the top layer off the letters and used cotton bud and some white spirit and lightly brushed it off and it came up brilliantly!

Ok so I couldn't wait till the morning to finish up. Here is the end product

After Rubbig back with wet n dry and then clear coating.

It was from this

Personally think the final product doesn't look as 'fake plastic' so I'm happy. What's your opinions?

Looks cracking mate.. Looking forward to getting mine off and cracking on with it..

Joely, I had thought about black but decided I was going to outline it in black. I put the masking tape all round the outline before realising that the black in the can I had was blocked solid.. Given the time I had to do it, I just went with what was on hand.. I have a lot of red and gold things around lol..

Fairly pleased with it though..

Im gonna work on a better one when I get the time and also get one for the rear done aswell..

It'll do for now though..

You'd laugh if you knew how I masked out the lettering! A spot of genius and madness all mixed together..

Gearbox now off engine bolts off so engine ready too come out and down pipes now off took the power stering bracket off and put on the tt engine as its a n/a system looking into poss changeing the polished engine stuff see if the maths work out well see on that one

Are you changing the engine parts to your polished stuff or are you getting rid of all your polished engine parts:scared: after all the work you put into them!! Have I read that right??

Dibs if you are :innocent::laugh:

Update: Installed the HKS ALC and it's certainly worth the few pennies I spent! The car shifts very quick and precise in the upper rpm range without being to harsh. In my normal driving situation it was fine as if it wasn't there. I only tested it about an hour but it was fine. It should make those spirited sprints on a windy road or quick pass a lil bit nicer!

I recommend the ALC at this point and we'll see if I feel this way in 6 months if I need a tranny...

image.jpgFinished the plenum off and did some spraying side skirts rear spoiler bonnet doors front bumper im knackered now, lacqure tomorrow
Looks like you've done a great job there ted. What did you use to polish it?

Cutting and polish past on 2 types of polishing wheel and 2 that go on the drill thought I'd finished but forgot about the throttle cover and balance bar

Changed the rear wiper seal. Old one looked fine but slightly shrunken. You can see where the water has been pooling from this pic.

No obvious signs anywhere else though to suggest where it's coming from. Spoiler bolts and the wiper arm bit look fine.

Went picking up my mates Supra up after its been off the road for six months... Couldn't resist a couple of cheeky snaps with the Z;)

He is indeed... Was a great drive back with the targas off too! Nice blast on the motorway ;)

All set for Japfest now, we are convoying down very early!!

I think you've just solved my water leak Dutch.. Every now and then when I open the boot, I get water running out from under the plastic trim right where that wiper motor is..

I'm thinking this is my problem too..

Where did you get the wiper seal from?
