  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Have you fitted the whiteline rear subframe bushes, if so any advice/feedback for us?

I didn't fit them in the end.

When I stripped down my rear shocks I discovered one of them had completely collapsed which explains the horrific handling and wheel hop.

Had a good look at the current subframe bushes and they seem to be ok, so to save myself some effort and get the car back on the road for this summer I decided not to fit them.

Zed #2: 1998 Midnight Purple 2+2 NA. (owned 2020 - now)

Zed #1: 1995 Blue Slicktop NA (2013-2015)

Just got back from a drive with the targas off :w00t:

That drive made so much more pleasurable as I finally got to meet bedzee man!

A great guy and another great looking Z.

We me at wrest Park as suggested by bedzee and a great place to meet..

Couldn't resist a few photos of the beasts!

And of course one taken by my best mate of the two of us with our Z's.

Usual weekend polishing, and had a quick go at the backboxes...

IMAG0144.jpg

Not a bad shine for degreaser and washing up liquid but they could be cleaner. Can I use tar remover?

Spent the weekend working on the Zed:hammer:

Saturday -

sorted out a fuel leak on the line to the FPR

Fitted Z Spec throttle cable clip

Sorted out one of the horns that had stopped working

Moved fuel filter so bonnet would close properly

Tiedied all the wiring up behind the front bumper to my new indicators

Filled and sanded the front wings

Fitted the rubber grommets (for the bumper to wing)that took CZP three attempts before I received the right ones!

Sprayed the IC brackets black

Sorted out the amber LEDs for the Twinz turn indicators

Fitted the 'diffusers' in the IC piping

Sunday

Fitted both front arch liners,

Fitted 3/4 front number plate

Installed Mesh to Twinz front bumper, after uming and arging I then pulled it all off as I didn't like it!

Trial fitted front bumper, fitted well, although i need smaller hands to fit those bolts at the front to the wings, hands scraped to bits!

Checked all the wheel bolts, good job to a one set where only hand tight.

Went for a quick drive round the estate, forgot how noisy she is and set off one of the neighbours car alarms,

Still to do:

Need to work out how I'm going to get a towing eye through any of the opening of this bumper, especially if I end up with mesh in the front and IC openings

Take out the fuel sender unit, as can't have positioned it correctly when I re fitted it the other week, as it showing 3/4 of a tank, only have 1/4 if I'm lucky

Then drive the thing!

All clean and shiny, ready to head to Shrewsbury early tomorrow morning!

Not usually into 5 spoke but they look mint bud. Very nice motor!

where you get the centre caps??

[sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

You still have the stock front tow eyes under the car?

Had to remove the towing eyes as they stopped the larger ICs moving inboard, meaning the outer part of the ICs were fouling on the inside of the bumper, bloody frustrating!

Will have another look now the bumper is on, as the towing eyes can only be 6mm thick, but the ICs are touching the inside of the bumper.

Thank you!

The centre caps were made by a guy on eBay; really fast service and top notch work :)

Drove the Z for the time this year  Checked the oil, water. topped the tyres up with air and hit the road. The first few miles I was listening to every noise and keeped checking the dials but all was fine with the turbo's singing and the noise of the twin exhaust put a smile on my face as I drove to Ballycastle and back (128 miles) stopped of at small road to take a few pics dose anybody recognize it?

Looking great there Simon. I made a random decision to go for a blat in the Z this afternoon and the wife and kids decided to join me. We ended up at a nearby lake resort where I paid to get in with the Z, got wedged on a very rough concrete speed bump that gripped my front bumper and ripped it when I tried to reverse off, doh!

Still, it was a nice drive [emoji41][emoji106]

Thanks JP it was a rushed picture with my phone as that road was busy with tourists. I would love to go back there at dawn or when the sun is going down to get a better pic.
