  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Got a few hours in the garage in peace today.

Both rear shocks refitted ( a difficult task single handed!).

Both new rear disks fitted.

Both rear rebuilt calipers refitted.

Handbrake adjusted.

I hope to get the rear on the ground again on Saturday, and then make a start on the front and get the calipers off so I can take them to work to rebuild in my free time.

Thats a good evening's work Al. Not easy getting time for the Z with family and work.

225 40 18 on the fronts and 245 35 18 on the rear. They are the same tyres from my other wheels.

They came with brand new falken tyres but they had a 45 profile which did rub when I first got the old 350z wheels.

Recon there's enough room on them for 245 and 265s? Or are those pretty tight already? Those wheels are on my short list.

I could easily get 245 and 265 on them tbh. I only bought my Continentals late last year though so wanted to stick with them:yes:

dont put go any bigger on the rims on the rear i had the same wheels for a while and fitted wider tyres, made the rear in corners feel scary add in the hicas to the wrong size tyre for the wheel and in thats a bad combo. i tryed all this in the end i sold the rays and got wider wheels,

Here u go.....

just keep the size tyres you have now. when i fitted 265 to the rear rays, at first i thought it was ok but after a few days i removed them was to wide for the wheel

Useful to know. I'm tempted to just throw some really sticky tyres on them. It's not like I use it in the wet or even drive many miles.

maybe but having spend load of cash and time on the rays you would be better getting a wider rear wheel. the 10j i have now have 285 on them. i temped to fit some toyo r888 in them for over the summer

One of them isn't it. I've got some cheapish rears atm to pass the mot. But 2nd is a waste of space. Full throttle in 2nd soon as I hit boost unless conditions are perfect she's spinning. I had Pzeros before and tbh things weren't a whole lot better, after they went below 3mm. Need to do something, rears brake free and the fronts lock up too easy. That's with 225/40/18 and 265/35/18s.

yes seems the z need all the grip it can get i think the 10j with a toyo r888 and the race logic traction control am fitting will help the car launch thats my plan anyhow, i will be doing a review over this very problem once the car is done, will do some testing with this combo and report back seem a lot to do but i think it needs it

If you can, get a Quaife differential, that'll help put the power down even more. I drove an 875bhp 300zx TT drag car in the US last year and it had a Quaife, I was blown away by how much extra power the wheels could put down and safely with this. It really does transform the car. The regular Z I was driving there was a 600hp street car with the stock differential and it was a real handful.

Did some work on the engine and did a bit of polishing so more bling image.jpg
