  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

  • These parts turned up from Specialty-Z today. Last significant items for the "bolt on" build. I'll post some more pictures of all the stuff I have collected over the years (literally!) in the "Project

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Can't see them man :(

With the help from a fellow car enthusiast the gearbox is now fitted once more :)

Also fitted the single piece prop and gearbox loom upto the starter which I now have an issue with.

Looks like the bell housing has a busted bolt to secure the starter so I thing I need to heli coil tap it.

It's common that. You might get away with a longer bolt, as the bottom may still be threaded. I didn't. I ended up tapping it with an M12 I think it was and filing out the slot on the starter. Problem free now.

Today I mainly f~c~ed my thumb getting out a front seat. The drivers front seat had stuck quite far back and getting a spanner under the rails to get to the rear bolts was a pain in the you know what. Then when the one bolt un-tightened all of a sudden, my thumb whacked the nearest rail and sent me through the roof for a few minutes! Now I have a sore/cut thumb, but at least the seat came out! :D

Much cleaner - red Z badge on white background looks just right.

YES I KNOW!!! I'll get round to doing it when I do some other bits to it next year - promise! :)

Had a good cleaning session today, even hoovered the interior! Gotta say it looks lovely and even the local buses were rating it! Look at the back of this bus!DSC_0184.jpg

As soon as it was dry enough, I took the cover off, smiled, got in and drove round the block at lunch time. I love this car :-)

Ah, you got her home then mate.. It's amazing how these cars have the ability to control your face muscles like that huh..

Hope to catch up with you soon mate, I'd like to take a look at what you got before mine goes away for the winter..

Give me a call bedzee

I took one of my wheels apart and re-sealed it. I made the mistake of not removing the powder coating between the mating faces when I originally assembled them. They began to leak after a couple of years because the air was getting under the powder coating. Thankfully, this was the last one! A painful lesson learned!

Fitted my new private plates (early birthday present from the wife) & dropped the zed at Lee Dents for a bit of work.

Some new parts for Christmas.

In about an hour I will be putting my waterproofs on to try fit my exhaust in the dark and its pouring.

And it needs to be done if I want to show her at the NEC on Thursday.

This weekend i layed pretty much on my back stripping off all the original stone chip from the underside then treated a few stone chip blisters then painted the whole underside with hammerite. Such a horrible job! After that i sprayed a few fresh coats of chip guard to protect it all for a few more year's.

I was impressed with how clean the underside of the car is! Just a few stone chip blisters forming that was easily removed with a wire brush.

I'm very happy with the results :)

two and a half hours in the rain and the exhaust is fitted and the rest of the intercooler pipes put back together.

Started her up and the boost gauge went +7 but managed to find I missed a vac pipe and was an easy fix.

Tomorrow I need to put the interior back together and also the major thing needs done is to replace the bottom pulley

which I know is going to be a pig to do.

You might get lucky. Sometimes they are easy.

Looking forward to seeing your car Saturday.
