• We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Today will see me start stripping things off and out of my Zed, in readiness of her going to the bodyshop tomorrow morning....

Eeeek!!

New rear tyres today, after an expensive lesson in keeping track of your tyre pressures on track :headvswall: I ran the centres totally out of my rear tyres (alarmingly quickly) so I have very chunky looking hankooks on now.

And!!!

All 4 tyres now have Nitrogen in them, as the salesman said "Ah whey like, its all about the particles like, Nitrogen does ne have ne particles in it like, where your air, whey that does ya see!" Sold

Can't say I look at the Focus, even the ST and go 'mmmm, that's a nice car' despite it being a decent hot hatch. Grim colour doesn't help its cause.

...but the Z, now that's another story! :)

Nitrogen hasn't got any particles... Not sure that's scientifically correct lol.

Well Albert Tyrestein said they won't expand at all with heat, not a single psi, so set all 4 at 32. Turns out it does but hopefully not much, I'd perhaps have gone a bit lower but nevermind.

And yeah it has particles in it! He said "Thee divn't gan down either like." And I said, "That's because the Nitrogen molecules are larger and don't make their way through the rubber of the tyres as quickly as those in regular air???" And he said "Nah there's nee molecules in Nitrogen bud."

When the sun hit them the purple and orange combo looked quite cool

Thanks tom originally it was just a temp fix because of shoddy previous owners but it has really grown on me and I do get alot of comments on the 2 tone ?

Continuing to go down my semi-concourse route and replacing anything that's either grubby, tarnished or slightly worn. Today was the turn of the drivers' side electric windows switch AND finishers.

In addition, I also collected the first bits back from the powdercoaters. Finish is exceptional. It looks really shiny here, but it's satin and the same tone/finish as OEM parts. Once all the new bushings and joints are pressed in and the new plastic trim, it will look really good. New OEM bolts all round! All the rest to do next, including subframe.

Spent the entire day at Jimmer's. Helped him fix a customer's leaky targa which was a success, then went amount working on my Z. My cam belt was done 8 years ago when Jim built the engine, despite the car only covering 20k since, I thought it time to get it replaced and get all the tensioners checked. The belt looked fairly new still with no signs of wear or weathering (the car is kept in a very dry environment), but it was replaced anyway. Top idler was replaced, complete coolant flush which was very much required!! It will have another change soon as it was well over due and I want the system squeaky clean!

Also replaced the ARB bushes at the front and new drop links. Drop links didn't really need replacing, but they were anyway, the bushes did. Next visit will be after I return from the US and that will be to fit all my new rear end bushes and powdercoated arms etc, new joints, HICAS inners, plus my full Brembo brake upgrade, new servo, SS lines, single piece prop, transmission mount too.

IPhones can go to hell!

Are you going the OEM rubber bushes route, or polybushing?

Are you going the OEM rubber bushes route, or polybushing?

Neither. I'm going NISMO bushings. They are rubber, but are a slightly higher shore hardness.

I changed my front No plate!

Think I've got the size wrong though:confused1:

Yes officer :nono:

:slap:

Haha nice plate Art... Looks loads better than your massive old one. Hopefully you'll get away with it...

Ordered a brand spanking new set of 99 spec rear lights and sent my Veilside wheels for a full split down and polish with new Stainless steel bolts.
