  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

  • These parts turned up from Specialty-Z today. Last significant items for the "bolt on" build. I'll post some more pictures of all the stuff I have collected over the years (literally!) in the "Project

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Took them out to adjust baz as they were far to low and I was hitting speed bumps and to low for mot stations round here, but the dam front left was leaking so that's a fail for so I just put the tein in that I had bought nearly 2yrs ago so got a better ride height now.

I've done a few things today :)

Cleaned all the roof inners and door shuts as they were absolutely filthy! She should look much more respectable now when the roof's off.

Had a bit of a clean up under the bonnet in readiness for Lee Dent's on Tuesday. Again, pretty filthy originally but somewhat prettier now.

Changed my nose badge to the nice red one I bought recently :)

And the best thing I did today, by a country mile, is to change the washer jets!! I replaced them with a pair off a Volvo which give a "fan" pattern over the whole screen, rather than the two poxy "jets" off each original washer. Makes a world of difference to clearing the screen!

I'd highly recommend anyone to make the same change!

And finally, I gave her a damn good wash as I couldn't really turn up at Lee's in a spectacularly filthy Zed, could I...??!

^^^ Can we have some more information on your Volvo washer jet modification!

Which Volvo model are they from and do they fit perfectly?

Volvo part number is 30655605 - I think they're off a V70.

You have to put them in sideways as the locking tabs on the Nissan ones are front and back of the washer underside, whereas the Volvo ones are on the sides. Once they're located in the bonnet apertures, you just turn them to the position you want them to be in.

Best. Mod. Ever...? :D

I absolutely refuse to take a picture or a video of my washer jets in "action"....!!

Take my word for it... they put the OEM ones to complete shame...

What a lovely looking car.

Project 1547 - Out of the Blue

She's so fine, there's no tellin' where the money went - Simply irresistible.

Have you tried then when the car is moving at speed (motorway for example)?

Can't say I have. But the OEM ones were fairly poor, or mine were at least, so I'm expecting these to be better even at speed :)

Do you get that nice little fan pattern?

Nothing exciting today! Jacked up the Z to take a look at Dif & drive shafts as I heard

strange sounds in reverse on Saturday!

Think it could be a wheel bearing? But on running nothing heard with wheels off the ground!

Went to Santa Pod, bumped into a good pal with a Zed!

£50 in the tank, 110 miles done, just under half a tank left. Not bad for nearly 600bhp!

polished both front wings and bumper today. taking my time lol!!! but looking good and coming out soon

Also gone for some 10W60 oil to replace the HKS 10W45. No issues as yet after a day on the dyno and a couple hundred miles on the road. Oil pressure is incredibly healthy for a 24yr old engine that's been a test-bed for the last 3 years. Respect to the VG

Took the slicktop out today for a short 15 mile blast in an attempt to find the cause of the small clunk coming from the front right wheel area.

I had already had the wheel off to check the usual suspects.. bottom ball joint, top arm. track rod end and rose joint on the tension rod. All to no avail. After todays run I rechecked it all and found the bolts holding the tension rod to the bottom arm were not 100% tight.

A trial test on my drive tells me this was the cause. It needs a more severe road test to fully check.

My new Corbeau seat is really supportive and comfortable.

Im thinking a few runs at York raceway over Easter weekend might be on the cards:yes:
