  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

  • These parts turned up from Specialty-Z today. Last significant items for the "bolt on" build. I'll post some more pictures of all the stuff I have collected over the years (literally!) in the "Project

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

soon adds up like think I will just get the main moulding and keep the rest there in very good order

Thanks Si, this is the best I've had it looking, loads still to do, need to straighten the bodywork out and give it a full respray. I wince sometimes when I look down the sides of the car, so many car park dings.

Yes, see you on Sunday.

Indeed it does add up, I've been doing mine gradually over the years so have spread the cost, this last lot completes the collection with new headlight and nose panel rubbers along with the front and rear screen rubbers.

This is more like what I did yesterday and today, Yesterday I sprayed my n/s front wing in aj4 I think it was ag2. I let the paint go off over night the finish from a rattle can was very good and the shade looked very close ( got the paint from Halfrauds ) so all that was needed was a little nib back with some 1200 wet and dry and some T-Cut, only problem was that after that was done I stepped back to admire my work and realized that I would have to do the rest of the car.

Here are the results of my two days work.

Lovely ?

Looks great mate, il have to clean mine tomorrow now.

Thanks Steve, not sure if Groover has contacted you yet but I have some Z mats for him, he was going to ask you to take them from me and he will collect them at a later date.

Paul

No ones said anything to me, however it's not an issue. I was actually in Ryde on the Island yesterday.

Sorry Steve and Paul, ive just texted to arrange :thumbup1:

Decided to get my car MOTed early so that I could ensure it was OK and I hadn't got another lemon. Needed to replace both front tyres because of some weird damage to the inside walls but otherwise all good. Now have 12 months MOT and peace of mind the car is as good as I thought it was :gunsmilie:

Where's the filling point for putting the new oil in? I'm going to be doing this in the next few weeks

Damage to inside walls is usually those bloody stupid speed humps...... did 2 tyres on my saab with them....

Checked oil, water, power steering fluid......

The filling point is on the RHS of the diff, drain point on the LHS. No special tools needed, the 1/2" square end of a socket set fits them perfectly. Torque figure of the both plugs is 43 ft/ib

I used a cheap one way valve hand pump jobbie to fill the diff, a good tip is to warm the oil up first, makes it easier to pump in. Only takes about 2 litres of oil.

This is what I used...

Got from a Wilco Motosave store.

Today I've changed the gearbox oil.

Not as easy as the diff due to location, but not difficult. Done on the drive way mind, a garage lift would make real easy.
