  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Took mine for a spin yesterday and I was very happy when she started doing this:

Yep, the clock was working, the hapiness didn't last long because after 5 minutes another light came on , the Hicas light. Power steering fel away too. Started her this morning and everything was fine again. Anyone have an idea? There is enough fluid in the PS.

Mike

Speed sensor maybe.

Try adding a small amount more fluid, the light tends to come on at times even when the level looks good. Keep the level at maximum and see if the fault returns.

Day 2 of my tailgate conversion.

Used the template I made from Bob's car to mark holes.

Drilled holes .Test fitted spoiler....all good.

Gave the exposed areas a quick spray........

Not impressed with Halfords paint matching skills :scared:

Spoiler and perspex strip fitted.

Forgot to paint the silver gaffa tape covering the holes from the original 89 type spoiler:whistling:

This car now goes to the back of the queue

Tailgate and spoiler to be painted properly ...one day. I might de wiper it too.

Think Petes is a shorty Lee, not sure if they're interchangeable??? I would have taken it had the couriers/shipping not have been such a headache:scared:

The spoilers are but the tailgate isn't, the shorties spoiler is shorter. I've tried to ship a tailgate before, it's really not worth the headache even within the uk

Some nice classics in there:yes: the Z is in good company:thumbup:

I know Ali, myself and Lee had originally done a deal on it but the hassle and worry of getting it across the water without damaging it or breaking the glass was too much for the two of us:yes:. Ideally it would have to have been collected by myself in a van and wrapped up in duvets and transported flat. There's hardly anyone up in Scotland with a van that's willing to take a spin to Ireland with a tailgate in the back??:whistling:

Indeed.

Pete doesnt do "family model 300ZXs".:tt2:

The spoiler is interchangable I believe

Tailgate and glass are different.

I seem to remember the best quote i could get was £60 within the uk, and the tailgate isnt exactly mint so i forgot it.

After some help from Ali last night and his breaker car today I have fixed the drivers door lock WOHOO! and also the window is workgin again oddly enough. think there is a corroded wire as it starts working as long as I move the wires up higher.... coudl be a loose connection somewhere.

Also the interior is just waiting for passenger door cards to finish the black alcantara, and then to redo the seat cushions in black. Good week all in all...

Lee.. How much does a garage like that cost?? Jees I'd kill for that garage.. In fact I'd kill for a normal double sized garage.. I must be in the wrong job or living in the wrong place cos I'd never afford that on my pittance..

12k a year.

But it's a work unit rather than mine, the boss just happens to like classic cars so lucky me.

Glad to report that 3 days have passed without so much as a cough from my engine

As she's being a good girl, I'm gonna treat her to a bit of a spa day tomorrow. I got a great goodie bag from autoglym as a thank you for bringing to their attention a small problem with one of their products and its labelling.

DSC_0417.jpg So, first it's an all over treatment with some super resin Polish, then a good going over the glass with the glass cleaner before a nice finishing coat of HD wax.

Now you watch it rain tomorrow!

Lucky you! I need a boss like yours.. Lol..

Bride Gias reclining bucket seats. Really comfy and sit you a bit lower than stock...

Fit a new camber arm tonight and hopefully cured the awful creaking sound!! Although one of the bearings on the second arm in totally seized so think that is being returned!

Didn't get as far as the HD wax but enjoyed washing jae off her and then a good going over with some super resin Polish and a coat of fast wax. Fast glass on the windows too..

Not bad for an old girl huh? DSC_0418.jpg

Quick question though folks.

I seem to have something that looks like watermarks on the glass? Glass cleaner doesn't want to shift them so wondering if anyone else has had this and might know a trick to remove them?? I had thought about trying the Polish but don't want to damage the glass
