  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

I feel like this engine bay is going to be very "haunting"!

It's gonna be beautiful.. That is if I can prove the pros wrong and get the plenum done...

If that goes pear shaped it's definitely gonna haunt me!

I gave mine a wash.......

......After a little trip to Wilton House yesterday!! Whilst I enjoyed the house and gardens, the Earl of Pembroke is a real petrol-head and has a great car collection:bow:

I'll post some pics separately, but among them are a 1972 240z and a black Veyron...

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I just went for a drive.

Nice, did your Zed, come out of the garage in the background? As it looks way to small for the Zed

Put the Z on the rollers again after Veizu couldn't figure out how to run the auto's. Dynodaze had no issues, 285bhp 271ft lb

October 2015: The slicktop struggled to get me home losing cylinders as I went along with the exhaust overheat light on. Pulled it in the driveway and gave up for the winter, wouldn't restart.

March 2016: I suspected cat failure so decided to cut two holes in the exhaust to get it started and low and behold it worked

April 2016: I popped it up on 4 ramps and removed the entire exhaust

Last week I had my mate come out with some tools and knowledge to remove all 6 broken studs from the downpipes (i'm been flat out with the garden/patio etc to do it myself) so it's all ready for the next step.

I bought a set of Japspeed decat pipes and hopefully this weekend i'll finally get to fit them and junk the AIV valves! :hyper:

Can't wait to get the little red Zed back on the road again! :) Pictures to follow this weekend...

Very clean looking 300zx

I've seen it at Lee Dents a few months back, its a very clean looking one in the flesh too:)

Can announce the bodyshop have actually started my zed, only took them a month or so....

Can you remind me what they are? and what their turbine size is?

Z1 GT675RS thought about the gtx turbos, but jimmer recommended these, and as Im new to the power game decided to listen to an expert.

Ah, so they aren't massive and don't have huge lag, but should have some hefty grunt mid/high rpm.

So the car's going to be in the body shop for a couple months now?

Edited by Alic

At least a few months at their pace, sounds like it's going to be a winter project,

They should still see nice power, but jimmer suggest it would be more usable/ drive nicer with them.

Hopefully pick something up in the next few weeks to keep my attention while the silver cars away...

I'm going to work on the car tomorrow and see if there is anything obvious not working. Going to reconnect the vacuum tee i broke, and then check fuel, spark etc.

In your opinion coopd, what did you make of mine when you saw it at Japfest mate? Condition wise I mean, I understand some of the mods aren't to everyone's taste..

To me it looks clean Paul, I remember it more from JAE last year tbh though. I remember the engine in particular sounded nice, no knocks or rattles, it ran nice and quiet as you left the show. Other than that the car looks nice and straight to me:thumbup1:

Sending it to jimmer, for forged internals, already had jwt r5 cams and springs, 2.5" pipework and ba intercoolers, ams manifolds, 740cc injectors...

would like to know how it drives when its done not just at speed but just driving normal. are you using the stock ecu whos mapping it

Cheers coopd, it's nice to get an opinion from someone in the know.. She's still very quiet but running a little lumpy as I think a tune up and aicv valve replacing is needed.. Just as shiny and rust free though

It'll either use a Nistune and protuner in Coventry, or a link ecu done by abbey motorsports. Depends on how much money I have left once the engines done,

The link g4+ I'd a better bit of kit, but it's an extra grand on the price.

MOT day for the old girl... passed, no advisories

Did you fix the clutch booster?
