Yes, I would request that everyone stops getting hurt by my comment. Funky doesn't mean disgusting, and it is my opinion. I think it is a fair opinion that purple and teal clash slightly.

If you don't think so, then be it. I'm not insulting or discrediting Andy in any regard, the panel looks great and the colour is what Nissan decided on, just with purple paint its not for me.

I wasn't having a go Ali, I'm not hurt, I was just stating the fact that the cars came with that colour from new. Mine is green this week but will more than likely be red by next week (God willing):thumbup1:

Did you go for the RPS gray?

Had quotes of a few in the end bud, some after delivery and import duty got very expensive, lead times are against me as I need to get this finished and back on the road:),didn't want xtd's as I have one in my swb, C G clutch specialist who supplied my original clutch wouldn't even offer me a clutch? So after along conversation to competition clutches they guaranteed me a 3 stage ceramic clutch ( for road use) and light weight flywheel(good for 700bhp),next day delivery for £570,I thought this was a good price, I'll let you guys know what it's like.

Suspension fitted and all arms and links on,

Ahh...didn't mean to post that one:whistling:

Not so much today as a very cold and blustery day yesterday at the home of Phutumsch, many , many Thanks Andy and what a great result!

Andy sorted out my Altia EL Panel and got it back to its original colour scheme and working a treat, also sorted out my fogs and reverse lights...

I'll assume that the offer to sort your pods out for you isn't needed now then Chris?

Not to worry, I'm sure someone else will appreciate the bulbs mate, or it'll just be some spares for mine.

Wow that was a road trip for you Chris luckily I only live about 40 mins from Andy.

Can you stop bringing my name up in your posts? I don't know why you keep doing it!! I haven't responded to any of this.

I think he meant "funky" as in the adjective. Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental.

I thought the same Si. And quite frankly, the comments/post made by this particular club member in regard to the incredible hard work Phutumsch did and the fact Andy managed to get the original OEM EL panel back to how I wanted it, seems to be completely ignored. Reminds me of an old saying " if you have nothing positive to say, best to say nothing at all". I always thought this forum was for genuine help and advice requests and to applaud and encourage the work we do on our individual cars, not for opinionated, negative and irrelevant comments for the sake of hearings ones own voice....still, we shall see ;-)

I cannot let that one go without a comment, this has never ever happened with me and is the reason i chose the name Phutumsch, if i'd of chosen the name Orgo, no doubt it would of happened much more often .

Over a lot of peoples head that one i know !!

UH OH I can hear a "out of context" siren :biggrin::biggrin:

If you read the posts back Ali used the word Funky to describe the colour scheme, not to light the blue touch paper.

Damn I've just defended the young 'un - what is the world coming to.

Good call! I fear I may be doomed to confusion with the finest, cheapest imported lager on the Irish market...

The same reason I chose Pebkau - which I am amazed no one has asked what it means.

Oh hang on - what the hell does Phutumsch mean?

As much as it pains me to say this, our FunkySi can knock the bolded section out of the park himself when he chooses to!

With regards to the "funky" comment; I'm struggling to see why anyone would take it as being derogatory - it is indeed a very funky rear panel now and it's great that Andy's brought an original Altia one back to life.

Ali's far from being the only person on here to state that something may not be to his taste. Hell, I've done it plenty of times myself! It's possibly just more noticable from him because he's on here 24/7....!

Anyhoo, Phutumsch and Pebkau: explain your usernames please!

Anyhow.... Look what's turned up for me:) I'm having a good week:drool:

Fook it I'm having a day of work tomorrow and having a nice drive down to my mate Lee's,and I think i will give him a lift with my clutch and flywheel ;)

(and bacon buttys all round on me):)

This has not gone un-noticed, it seems you have taken my opinion quite seriously which is fair enough. You have got a great panel from Andy and then someone says its a weird colour. Indeed I have recognised and applauded Andy's work because it is a wonderful job.

I'm not insulting or discrediting Andy in any regard, the panel looks great and the colour is what Nissan decided on, just with purple paint its not for me.

That fact that the colour scheme I feel is 'funky' (sorry for the mention again :p) is subject to my opinion and I am quite inclined to voice it as purple and green isn't so common. Indeed it is ironic you are quoting Si when mentioning about voicing negative opinions.

I am not going to pursue this further, if you don't agree with my opinion, what do I care. Just try not to take it so seriously and enjoy your car.
