  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

  • These parts turned up from Specialty-Z today. Last significant items for the "bolt on" build. I'll post some more pictures of all the stuff I have collected over the years (literally!) in the "Project

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Where did you get them from? And how much were they?

I am planning on replacing both sides on mine very soon.

Hello mate, got them from Steve (believe he's a member on here) He's done panels for others on this forum. His eBay user is littlebird1303. Was 120 quid for both and he had them fabricated and sent to me within a week. Top bloke! His mobile number is on his eBay listing (mr2 panel)

Well, I planned on the task of removing the front bumper today to remove the original sidelight/indicator units that are hidden beneath the abflug bumper. I've made some LED replacements to fit inside the actual bumper and will not have the arduous task of bumper removal to change a bulb! But, ended up replacing the bumper on my aunts fiesta instead after she failed to spot a tow bar whilst out shopping..

So, the easier task was achieved and I'm still dreading trying to remove the bolts from inside the Z's bumper as after looking at where the bolts are located, it looks like an absolute nightmare to get to.. Anyone ever had to remove a type four abflug bumper? Any tips for making it easier than it looks?

I've been preparing my UK manual twin turbo for sale

Connected the wastegate actuators to the controller. I will never ever, ever put the engine back in without having the drivers side already connected. Took me nearly 2 hours to get that little b@stard on and zip tie it:cursing:

Lesson learned ey. Always try to put things in the easy way, like hose clamps etc. when I got my zed previous people had put them in such awkward places, a simple 180 rotation makes it 100xs easier to service in situee.

My first go with a paint gun and at wet sanding. I didn't save much in the end but I'm happy with the result. For a first go anyway.

Cheers guys. I'm toying about the nose badge. There's no ecu in the car atm but hopefully there will be next weekend so il get some driving done.

Looks great, I hope you discarded that old nose panel straight into the bin

Did you buy yourself a spray gun etc then? I've always wanted to try spraying but I imagine it would take quite a few cars to get to a standard I'd be happy to tackle the Z for a full respray.

Had a great drive out with my mates last night. Covered lots of fun miles, then killed the clutch a couple of miles from home :(

Kind of hoping it's hydraulic related but somehow I doubt it, can't select any gears and when it is in gear the clutch pedal doesn't do anything :( gave it a bit too much alongside an R8 haha

Oil change done and new k&n filter installed.

Washed the dirt away again and a spot of wax..

Now clean on the inside of the engine and on the bodywork..

Still waiting for the wheels!

The important question here is how well you were doing against the R8?

Regardless of what the finish may look like up close, the overall result is a huge improvement [emoji106]

^^^What he says - much better!

Yup - agreed.....

Nice work Steve!!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Haha yeah well his is supercharged and 720bhp... Lol

We were generally just pissing about as always and the R8 is an absolute animal. Although I think the Z is more entertaining going sideways and wasting some tyre tread

17 x M8 red cup washers arrived today, so fit on the coil pack brackets and on the throttle body bolts .

Then I hid some of them under the strut brace, haha.

well yesterday i started to tackle my inner wings which were starting to look bad and were grubby, plus i had rust around the holes where the plastic arch liner clips came through so a rub down, coat of zinc primer then 3 coats of satin black has tidied them up, hopefully weather permitting i can get it finished tomorrow
