  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Do it. They look fab, gaz just fitted one. Which is another reason I'm leaning towards the 99spec so we don't look like twins lol.

Past tense 'considered'. As much as I like them, mine is staying as-is. Got the body pretty much as I like it. Next on the list are single piece prop, Nismo transmission mount, new engine harness, Z1 Smics and a Noel to do a remap.

Better trans mount is on my list as well I did find a poly mount very similar but much cheaper, can't find it again now though. When you give the sharp end it can some times feel like the box swings around in there.

zed-racer - how much vinyl You need to wrap whole car?

Well, can't really answer that until I've finished. I bought 13m of green and 1m of black.

just ordered another 3m. Total so far for a LWB = 17m x 1.5m vinyl.

Prefer it all red to be honest but thats just me mate. It still looks good with the black bonnet as it gives it more of a modded look.

Don't think that the harlequin look suits your Z32, all red would be my choice.

I agree about keeping the car a single colour - but Gary makes a good case for the black bonnet; although I'm not so sure about a black centre panel Steve!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

......And as for what I did to my ZX - today nothing. But yesterday I went to Battle.....

.....Not in the conflict or the challenge sense, but to the town of Battle; near Hastings - for a nice sunny Sunday day out in the ZX!!

I went there a few months back, Battle Abby school.

Yep - saw that; it's in the Abbey grounds, we went there to visit the abbey... It was a good day out - and a nice 190 mile round trip for the ZX:biggrin:

Drove about a million miles in 2 of them today :hang:

Write up to follow but me and David have been recovering a zed from Mark's place back to Morayshire. Christ, its a long drive, especially with David's ridonkulous!!! Exhaust :pinch:

When I got back in mine it was like a Rolls Royce, "The loudest thing at 100 mph is the clock." Or was it just the chimes in my ears :walkman:

Haha, think how big the fuel tank in a zed is then how much fuel you actually used on this journey, hilarious stuff. I remember driving mine to Cornwall and having vapors left, juicy.

I have just got up amd feel like I have been boxing, I suppose I wrestled the car somewhat over the tops to carlisle, bit of a shakedown for David. My ears nearly work again. But now it's my annual 10 man life raft drill. I was just thinking how much I want to jump in the sea haha :boat:

It was my first exposure to a basically stock zed. It was pretty good, I immediately noticed the stock suspension, it was noticeably more comfortable around town but I prefer the way my coilovers respond to faster country roads. Although they are firmer they don't become overwhelmed like the stock setup over multiple undulations. What I did like is that it took a bit more 'driving' to get David's car across the pennines, it reminded me of my (polybushed and well set up) 2.8 capri, you got plenty of information from the car earlier than with the stiffer set up I have, it needed larger steering angles and more management of the weight shift but it was really rewarding to get right.

The power was pretty good, you can tell it has auto tubs and cams because from 3500 you have all the power your going to get, mine just has more of a top end rush.

David is a very good passenger now I reflect on my... test piloting...

Today, I took a little time to give the old girl a good wash and polish :)

It's a shame I don't have more time (and money!) to lavish on her, really....
