went out for a spin this morning as my zed has not seen the light of day for a few weeks ,,gave it a good blast down the road around 70ish after a few miles the steering wheel started shacking dropped back to 40 and still doing it.pulled over to see if the wheels had dropped a wieght but all looked good ,,pulled away and everything was ok all the way home ,anyone ever had this before?

Jack the front up and check for play, sounds like somethings loose, wherls steering arm etc. it would need to be a friggin rock to make the steering shake. All depends on how pronouced it is, you should still have a good inspect just in case.

My thoughts too mate.....

 

...I had a similar problem last year; sometimes I'd get wheel vibe and others it was fine. Turned out to be a sticking front caliper - sticking intermittantly - until it finally seized altogether! Sounds like you could be having the same problem - and when you stopped, your braking action "unstuck" it, hence it stopped shaking when you pulled off again.

you could be right Rich thinking about it on the last m.o.t they said the drivers side was dragging alittle ,think a strip down will be in order
