As the title, been toying with the idea of changing my smashed up Gracer front end with a 99 spec. instead of repairing it yet again.

 

I'm not a massive fan of the 99 spec front, but i've seen it look very nice with a lip on it here and there.

 

So get some pics up and give me some inspiration....pretty please. :biggrin:

I like the license plate on yewchecks and pauls is it road legal?

not too sure how a black lip would look with a grey car though so would probably have to keep it all the same colour.

If you look at the pics from the meet, I have a legal plate on now. Got stopped by the Police so changed it. I did have the smaller one on for 3 years no drama.

I have never been stopped in 9 years.................but probably because I am never on the road:lol:

I'd probably try it to see how long i could get away with it for.

if its an import esp with a 99 spec front end you may get away with it, by checking with the dvla explaining its a grey import they may send you out a permission slip/letter to run the 3/4 plate, on the basis of it actually being a grey area of the law. ie its legal dependant on the interpretation of the law that surrounds it. theyres a guy round here with a s15 he says one of these letters after getting dragged into the police station for refusing to remove it.

In my opinion [for what its worth] I cannot see a problem with my plate........its clear and consise, and I am not trying to make it something its not! ie all these personal plates with large gaps and numbers made to look like letters!!

Thats the same size as what i've got now. i've also got another one thats ridiculously small, its about 6" long. no way i'd get away with that.

Has stupid has it sounds, i had mine painted and car looked great without a number plate on the front,

 

I drove for over a year without plate on the front and never been pulled once for it, got a 99spec bumper now and gonna have car painted again and looks so much better without the plate dont wanna stick one on it.

 

just look at jaikai's zed it looks stunning,

 

If theres a plate on there be it small has long has its readable i dont see why they care, gonna put mine in the boot and say its just fell off and i will be putting it back on when i get home lol.

It`s an original Seat Cupra part, with a few modifications it fits the 99 spec front :)

surprising, i thought the zed would be much wider. what mk cupra is it off? guessing its not going to be scrap yard job...
