Well after doing my pin 44 thing, and also sorting out my audio (seemed to have lack of base for some reason) decided to take my little boy for a driver and also test what effect doing wiring in the neutral switch was going to have.

Anyway, driving through down earlier, quite congested, couldn't do more than 20, had this black ford following me, anyway, was slowing down, with my indicator on to turn right, when next thing i know, i got shunted from the rear.

Although i had rust bubbles there wasnt any cracks in it like that.

IMG_0355.jpg

There is more damage but these were the ones i noticed right away and took photos of.

The damage to his car was minimal

mine now most likely needs to be put on a jig, ill get better pictures in the morning.

think ill take it to a body shop first and get a quote for the cost to repair, then most likely go through the insurance on this one.

thats 2 times in a matter of 3 weeks someone has hit the back end of my car, and 3 times since ive owned it :( twice when it was sat still, and now this time when i was coming to a stop from 20mph.

Might be time i threw the towel in depending what the insurance say.

There is more body work buckling under the bumper, as i had a look, and the boot doesnt close properly now either, it makes a distinct metal hitting metal noise.

write it off, you were gonna sell it not so long ago for parts, will be worth writing off, buying back and selling the parts, will make more money, its been nowt but a money pit anyway so you may get something back from it

Agree with Stella mate when they fix the damaged parts and hand it back to you its still going to be a money pit. Take the money and start afresh:yes:

strange this is, thats the 3rd fecking ford thats hit my car, the guy who usually parks next to me, scraped the bumper in his fiesta when me and steams where doing the engine change, then my mates neighbor backed his ford cmax i think it was, into it after commenting on how nice it was. then yesterday got hit in the rear by a bloody ford focus.

When I had the black zed and it was hit up the rear it was going to take £2000 to fix it and they wanted to wright it off but because it was in so good condition I fought to get it fixed and it was. But this was a car that give me no bother ever and when I sold it last year it was still an awesome zed,

My thread http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?127089-my-zed-rear-ended&highlight=rear+damage

you can easily knock over a grand of that price, to inc vat, buy some used parts of one of the many breakers around, get in touch with Big Jim, he will sort you great paint job at a great price :D

sorted :D

Bloody hell!

The car is jinxed(sp?)

Get them to write it off, buy it back (for peanuts) and break it!

Start again with another car.

I posted before reading last two pages lmao. I think Jim is right. and everyone else, split it and break it up.

so..... What parts you got? lol

£276.....and even then its £350 with vat and delivery.

True mate - but the quote is £2000-odd plus VAT on top of everything; so the garage is right to quote all the parts without VAT (you're right about them missing the delivery though) as they would otherwise be adding VAT to a price that already included VAT......

TBH Ian, I reckon I'd go along with that as well. It's a much easier option and when you get the cash, just get yourself another, less troublesome, ZX..... Good luck in whatever youdecide mate!

with VAT on top it brings it in at £2616, gotta remember there is no respray on that sheet either, so that would no doubt cause the price to increase as well. was on the phone to the insurance but need to ring the help desk tomorrow as they couldn't find my car on the data base which was a slight bit worrying, well until he said he didn't have access to the classic car side of things.

the guy when i rang him, said there was no way he would be able to afford that, and to go through the insurance.
