Hi guys, just signed up as looking into getting a manual tt and thought this would be a good place to start to find info about them.

Been looking at a couple on ebay, but they are a bit of a trek away from me though they do look to be well kept.

Got an insurance payout coming in the next few weeks and will be buying the car from that so would like to get a good one to begin with.

Currently driving a mk1 1.6 mazda mx5, insurance will go up a stagering £75 to change mid policy (9 months left) so mind has been made up for a z32.

Hi Colin, welcome aboard, plenty of help and advice and banter here !!

Finding a good TT may well require you to take that Trek, there's a lot of dross out there, but equally some stand out...a few are on this forum for sale, so might be worth starting in the for sale section.

Cheers Steve

Welcome Colin, good luck with your search, as mentioned plenty of help and advice on here. Have a look at the for sale threads, you may just find what you are looking for on here.

Welcome mate, as said before there aren't a lot of nice ones around so u might have to travel, if u find one then put it up on here and someone will have a look at it for u, maybe save a wasted journey !

Thanks for the warm and friendly welcome everybody. The offer of someone having a look if I find a car is very kind.

Ive had a quick browse around and starting picking up a few pointers on what to look out for. One of the cars I've found that I like, after having a browse around I believe is a members car on here...

welcome to the club and good luck with your search.

PS £75 insurance increase from a 1.6 MX5 to a Z32 is a steal! (unless you were paying £1k for the Mazda!)

Welcome to the club Colin.....

....and my learned friend is dead right there!! You may have to travel miles to find the right ZX (I did - twice!!); but if you do spot a potentially nice one, just ask if anyone here is local and whether they'd mind popping along to see it before you treck across the country yourself.

We're a friendly and helpful bunch so it's not too much of an imposition.....!!

Good luck in your search - and do check out our own "for sale" section too. Yewcheck is selling a mighty fine UK spec manual car at the moment....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

welcome, you will notice a big difference from the mx5 different beast altogether. if you find one within dorset let me know il more than happily pop along at poke it about. had you decided on a set model or colour etc? later models have a few extra desirable bits and less issues. japanese imports are often cleaner ie less rust but if its been in the country a fair while a negligible thing, some insurance companies will charge more as im sure your aware. good luck, dont rush finding one.

Only specifics Ive got at the moment are it must be a manual twin turbo.

As to what I was pying on the mx5 insurance wise. I paid £400.

This is the one I've got my eyes on at the moment, had a lengthy chat to one of the guys at the garage on phone earlier too.
