On your engine though im not sure what has been said already but are you planning on using parts from that fried engine and are they going to be inspected?

all ready beat u to it ..

Crank/cams/valves are good to go

Heads are being skimmed and valves re cut

Block is getting re-bored to 87.5

and Water ways debured

so its having major overhaul

pistons/rods/bearings/bolts/pump

load of other little things

Is the block getting sorted to cure the problem with No. 6 over heating? ie i mean getting the water ways bored out to the rear to pistons?

yeah i'm doing that ... going to de-Bung it and open up the channels

then put some new Freeze plugs back in

if thats what u r talking about ...

I think i get ya otherwise i csn see this same problem occurring again with the drama of the zed lump and the issue of cooling to the rear cylinders which im sure others can back me up on.

It would just be a shame to not get the waterways bored out and then fry another piston after the amount spent on the rebuild

even jz's still have issues here and there i seen some dead ones with same pistons as marks for the same reasons lol

well thats all the AC items out the car ... just left the AC Matrix in .... that will not be a problem will it ?

  • Author

heavy matrix ... yeah right

your still gonna be slow .. and all ways behind the Red car .... as you know Red is the fast;st colour

lol at you two. like a married couple! how long did it take you to remove the dash mickey? wouldnt mind removing my AC evaporator from mine especially now the heater matrix has gone, but dunno if I can be bothered with the hassle.

Another Q ....

OIL & Filter Would it be wise to go with 1 grade thicker 10w50 ? as i have been using valvoline Sport 10w40

as my local supplier been selling it cheap £10 for 5lt

Plus Oil Filters been using Blueprint Anything better ?

the piston has detonation damage mate, its classic under fuelling not a heat issue,he had 14 afr on full boost.no 6 goes because its last in line for fuel.

Come across this today EP RACING VG30DE CRANKSCRAPER WINDAGE KIT (RACE)

http://epracing.net/zencart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=1

whats this all about ?

Stops oil from floating around in the air in the sump and being wipped up by the crank keeping more oil in the sump and less flying round i have one in my group a engine well worth buying mark

Mark i always use fuchs pros s 10/50 in all my forged engines i build that combined with a genuine nissan filter would be great i would not use a blue point on this engine build personally

The reason i use the fuchs pro s is because i used to knopw someone in the oil industry and that really is the only one i ould use millers a second choice amazing what inside information you find out from the plants themselves as to what is a true synthetic oil ;)
