ok, in an effort to make sure I actually use the car, and because I've always wanted to do it, I've signed myself up for this year's TimeAttack. I'll be in Club RWD class, and I imagine against some very stiff competition from what i can see from previous years.

Never done anything like this before, just a couple of track days, so it's going to be a huge learning curve :crying:

 

Dates are below, and if you can make it then please come along and say hi, and if you're unlucky I'll rope you in to help too!

I have very few photos post respray as any time I spend with the car I'm driving!

Bob didnt run NOs at the Silverstone track day and TBH the car doesnt really need it. It now pulls strongly thru all the gears. I didnt notice any lag on power delivery. Thats probably cos Bob doesnt use less than 4000 revs .... anywhere:innocent: I think he just likes the sound it makes when it starts to cut out on the rev limiter.:wacko:

Only asking, as club rules state no Nos, not sure how they police it, guess you could leave the bootle out :)

Absolutely right no NOS allowed so will leave out the bottle for time attack. Mine comes in over 4000rpm from third gear only so only any good for top speed sprints really. It would be good to have it for spool up for quarters but I'm not gonna worry too much as it's still very much a road car so as always a big compromise.

 

We've just installed a harness bar for the T/A scrutineer so now all ready to go. Looking forward to seeing you there :) Nice looking car by the way :)

Some goodies from Demon Tweeks arrived - Racesuit, gloves and front tow strap :)

 

 

Still need to sort boots, full face helmet + rear tow hooks

looks a bit odd without mirrors, hopefully they'll be here next week along with the missing rear qtr window and under boot trim. Front calipers will be PC'd black at some point too

That zed is incredible. I have been scrolling zed pics for years, always looking for inspiration. Ive seen many nice zeds, but that is defo up there.

Is the diffuser a ShineAuto supra diffuser? What about the 'flares' on the skirts?

 

Like i say, i'm always looking for inspiration for my zed, and i'm gonna be honest - i might just completely copy that back end. I love it!

Some updates!

 

Z1 order arrived including:

new 98+ gearbox - hopefully the sycro's last

various bits of trim & clips so I can get those fitted

Z1 short shifter - current short shifter (ebay special from years ago) is rattling internally

 

Have a mapping session next week so just double checking everything in preparation.
