17" front with 18" rear on a zed.....pro's and cons please??

Featured Replies

Corvette Grand Sport has 19s on back and 18s up front but it was designed to sit on these. Only cons I can think of are calibrations between front and back abs etc. I guess Unless you do the mod and test the specific car in a variety of conditions who knows ?

Insurance may be a factor as if an accident did occur and they found this mod it may be hard explaining.

As long as you alter the tyre profiles so that you are running as close to the stock rolling circumferences as possible, then it's no problem at all.

So on your fronts, go with 235/45/17 tyres and on the back 255/35/18 (or even 265 depending on the rim width) - that will be just fine mate!!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

theres quite a few factory cars that run a larger diameter wheel on the rear, plymouth prowler and chrysler crossfire to name a couple.

My s2000 had higher profile fronts, as did my 1 series.

My 300 is currently running 17" on the front and 18" on the rear with lower profiles, drives nice actually but it's only like that whilst I'm refurbishing the enkei 17" rims :)
