Some of you will remember my z32 fairlady.

I sold it due to running out of money to fund the addiction to a young lad (18) from up north. I found him on facebook and messaged him pleading to buy it back as I no longer cover half the mileage I used to, and he informed me that he sold it to his friend within 3 weeks (who also messaged me about the car), but unfortunately it snapped on him in the wet after overtaking a van and threw him into a drystone dyke. The car was obviously written off, and the poor lad died at the scene.

It's a grave reminder to drive with respect, especially through winter.

That's terrible news but as always these cars bite in the wet and you always have to bear that in mind. Take it easy folks :(

Oh shit man, thats awful :(

RIP young zedder + Z

Sorry to hear that!, can be a real eye opener RIP

real shame, poor family. makes you think twice before you press the loud pedel on those twisty lanes, in the wet.

What terrible news, the report doesn't say it was a 300, perhaps they didn't really know the vehicle type, especially when it was damaged also, very sad indeed.

One report (STV I believe) does mention it's a 'nissan 300zx', another says 'high performance nissan', so def the one :(

"Nissan 3000"?

From the first report the road looks quite straight, depends which way he was travelling I guess, could be a bad bend just behind the camera? Either way, a large chunk of masonary went straight through the glass house and killed the poor lad. Could just have easily been a telegraph pole or a tree though - does make you think. Family must be devastated..

His previous car was a turbo'd mgzr, but then front wheel drive is hugely different as we all know. And yeah it's a dead straight road, one of the reports is just a 'default pic' of an accident scene..

Mine stepped out badly in the wet on the way back from Zedword on the motorway when I went to overtake a truck, managed to grab it okay but i've driven RWD cars since I was 17. Very very dangerous.

Very sad to hear that mate.....

....but still a poignant reminder that these cars can bite your hand off if not respected in less than perfect conditions.

RIP Mr Milnes.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Was cruising along in my other car last year side by side with a done up silvia.... low as heck bodykit niceeeee wheels etc.... really really tidy car..... he went to foot it past in the wet, heard him spool up watched my mirror and saw the back step out about a foot to the left. then saw him over correct it to hell.

I dropped 3rd gear and took off as quick as i could make my little toyota go, his car snapped back the rear to the right and he came about a foot off my bumper as the rear swung past (he was doing about 80mph) spun it alll the way across 4 lanes of motorway then put rear quarter into the concrete barrier... hit it so damn hard the whole car swung round lightning fast and the front left piled in afterwards.

He was alright but it can all go bad to worse really quick.

Same happened when i spun out my last Z and totalled it, local road works guys said it nearly went arse over front, all i saw was tarmac and sky. :pinch:
