Just a quick note for all that know my lad, Ian Jnr.

He went to his Air cadets tonight/last night (it's after midnight....lol) He finishes cadets at around 21:30, we received a phone call to go and pick him up.

He had passed out, literally, and went down like a sack of spuds, landing heavily on his chin, putting quite a nasty gash in it.

So went and picked him up, got him home where I could take a look, and there was no way that I wasn't going to let him be seen by a doctor.

So we spent a few hours in Alder Hey Childrens Hospital, where they have stitched it.

Thought you guys would like to wish him well, he would be over the moon.....lol.

Cheers

Woah that's nasty. Any idea why he dropped mate?

Anyway, i'm sure he'll be surfing along here soon enough, so i hope your doing ok Ian Jnr, just take things nice and easy. And don't worry about the nasty gash... chicks dig scars.

Well, if it's any consolation - chicks love scars - cos they make you look tough :gunsmilie: My old man had a similar scar when he was a kid and he turned out OK, obviously!

All the best Ian Jnr - take it easier next time, eh!

Sorry to hear that Ian, thats nasty. Hope Ian jnr is ok. How many stitches? Anything over 10 is cool! :)

Any idea on how it happened mate?

Ouch! my mate passed out on parade with the cadets, but he broke his jaw and chipped some teeth, so you got off lightly with a few stitches! all the best for a speedy recovery :thumbup1:

Hope he gets well soon and they find what caused it.... all the best to him form me and Jan

I was always told to keep wiggling fingers and toes, and to rock back and forth on the balls of your feet when I was in the cadets :)

Hope he gets better soon though!

Same when I was there

Hope he's ok fella

Sorry to hear this buddy, wish him all the best and a speedy recovery !

I'm guessing hes in for a career change as passing out in low altitude never mind

the high isn't the greatest for the air cadets, he likes his cars so why don't you get

him into doing something with racing or bikes !

At least if he passes out again he wont be falling 30'000 feet !:whistling:

Loads of my mates used to pass out in Cadets when we were kids. Standing i line for so long with a combination of being tired, hungry and thirsty etc!

Any how get well soon buddy, only a youngster and already has battle scars !

Hi all its JNR here thank you all for those kind words it really is much appreciated hopefull a quick recovery allthough a few days off school does a kid good LOL turned out it was just the heat that done it thanks again for the well wishes hopefully see you all at the Z-world bash

Takes me back, I remember one particular summer in cadets, we were on parade and about 10 out of 30 in the squad passed out, it was a particularly hot summer and we were all in full dress. I think it was the year Diana died, we were in the "Princess of Wales" regiment :D

Good luck Junior, I'm sure your face will heel just fine. Girls like pretty boys these days apparently, not the rough and ready type :( Thank god I'm already taken.

on eof my mates fell down a 9ft empty swimming pool when we were riding bmx when we were younger shattered his eye socket and his elbow. ended up with 70 odd sitches and over 30 staples. as said chick loves scars..... :) chin up ey lol

He's fine thanks Jane, just a very sore chin.....lol, and he managed to get his mum to say he could stay at home today, so he got the day off school....lol.

It was very hot in the cadet hut, and he had been given combats to wear over his clothes, thus causing the faint, too much blood feeding the major organs causing a lack of oxygen to the brain....yes they confirmed at the hospital that he does have a brain, even if he is a horrible teenager.....lol. I must say that when I picked him up he was a very funny colour.

LOL - gives a whole new meaning to the 'Passing out parade'

WTF is going on at Cadets these days? Kids dropping left, right and centre - they should be reported for child abuse. Hang on, let me re-phrase that.. They should be done for negligence of care. No food, no drinks and hot clothing - sounds like boot camp for soldiers!
