Changing my rad and was wondering what opinions are there about electric rads v standard rads:detective::detective:

Featured Replies

you will have to forfill a minium air volume to be moved for effective cooling. in reality its generally excepted that keeping the viscous fan is the more effective way forward.

I have an Ashspec fan and Koyo rad fitted i think the problem occurs with the electric kits when cheaper alternatives are fitted thta i see on the market. With mine the fan is encased in its own shroud that covers the whole radiator therefore the whole radiator is cooled and not just what is in front of the fan.

Lots of people will rave about the viscous though and how good it is which it is however i wanted a tidier engine bay

Viscous is best if a bit ugly and takes up alot of space but does the job better and more reliably.

Electric is tidier (especially the way i've got mine installed in front of the rad) and good if you have them wired up independently so you can get a little extra oomph sat in the queue at santa pod

Thanks guys looks like iam sticking with the viscous then:cool3:

once you fit the koyo rad with the fan surround its near impossible to see the fan anyway. due to the rad being closer to it so it still looks nice and tidy
