My new wheels etc....

Following my earlier thread, I had my new wheels fitted on Saturday. I had originally intended to swap the tyres from the old wheels as they had loads of life in them......

.......or so it seemed. The tread on fronts had started to come away on the inner edge, I only noticed it in the tyre shop so I had to buy new tyres whilst the car was there. And the only decent brand they had in stock were Continentals - then one of the rears had a nail in it (although not all the way so it wasn't terminal) and the other had developed a "bulge."

Great...:asshole: I need 2 new rears as well - but the 'shop didn't have any decent 265/35/18s in stock. I had the old rears mounted on the rims - but before I drive at any speed I'll need a new pair of Contis on the back to match the fronts.....

.....however despite that I loved the new look and took some pics (with my phone BTW) when I got home!

Absolutely GORGEOUS :tt1:

Cheers Brian & Jane!!

And there is one more, but it just did not not seem to want to upload for some reason????......:cursing:

Never mind!

I then spend Saturday afternoon fitting my new DAB head unit and I have to say, it really was worth the effort! I got the new Kenwood KDC DAB4551U with the optional Bluetooth attachment.

The DAB reception is very good and the hands free phone facility works really well. So all in all (apart from the extra tyre expenditure) I am pretty pleased with the results!!

Wheels look cracking matey.

With the DAB Head Unit, does this still use the standard radio antenna or does is it not needed anymore?

Cheers Mikey....

....and the head unit uses the normal aerial for FM reception but comes with a discreet windscreen mounted antenna for the DAB. It's like a heated screen element but no more than 15-20cm long.

I'll get a pic up if you're interested....
