Seems to be something in every part of the Zed.

Can anyone tell me what this is, its under the drivers side rear seat 'wall' trim -

Under the passengers side rear seat is what I think is the OEM amp, and the blue thing (on the left) I think is the relay for the interior lights? (which is what I was looking for) -

The top pic is the ABS ecu, not sure on the bottom pic but in the UK cars it's the ecu for controlling the adjustable suspension. The oem amp is in the boot next to the abs pump on the drivers side.

adjustable suspension? what models is that on?

the UKs had them, it was activated by lifting the handbrake a bit. I think it just stiffened up the rears. I ditched it when I changed to KYB shocks all round.

would my 92 uk have it then, or was it later?

I think so. Have a look under the panels covering the shocks in the boot, if there is a little actuator sitting on top of the strut then you do.

Lower picture shows the fuel pump ecu and as said the relay for the interior light, oh and Hollings no need looking I can tell you your zed as all in UK zeds does have electrically operated rear shocks that are activated by lifting the handbrake lever one click to firm up the rebound.

Cheers everyone!

Mines an import...so no fancy suspension for me I guess...

So lower pic is the fuel pump ECU and interior light relay, the top is the ABS ECU. Sorted! :)

your all wrong the top one is a big ass pnematic ram for the ejecto seato? maybe thats just imports you didnt think the t tops where their simply for summer did you?

seconded

the thought is that the "handbrake control" was either a secondary feature or a test facilaty

there is some thought that its actually switched by the ECU depending on speed and maybe steering so it stifens when you corner hard. however some people rekon its not actually conected to the ECU

i've not seen any proof either way myself although a look at the circuit diagram does suggest more going on
