Top build mate, how are you finding the build? You said its your first 1. This thread is inspiring me to maybe not scrap mine and do something similar just maybe not so high spec LOL.

Its not about money, any body can get a wad of cash and throw it at a car ?

Its about personal time, and commitment !!

You my friend, have sacrificed both !!

Please keep the pics coming, its threads like this that keep the dream alive !!

Thank you for sharing !

I agree its taken alot out of me as im no expert and i wished i started a smaller project before say a Fiesta so i sort of new what im getting in to. If you have alot of spare time go for it mate. Depending how far you want to go just be prepared to end up doing and paying out more than you expected because once you get the bug you will get carried away like me.

Thanks for all your kind comments ive got newer pics to update with but sorting though about 1500+ photos is a pain but ill keep an update now ive spent the day organising most of the pics in to folders on my computor.

There has been many times that ive nearly gave up on the car because of the problems i was coming across. Even a few members on the site offered to come help me. Shows you the true sprit of the Zed family.

Just an update of some of the bits going on with Ted. Well what ive got pics of anyway...

Fitted enlarged Z1 throttle bodies. Had to port the plenum to match the bigger butterfly and fiddle with the linkage to get them to work.

Custom made 65mm dia turbo inlet pipes either side as the stock pipe was the wrong shape and alot smaller dia.

IMAG0167.jpg

Quite alot of messing about with this down pipe has had to be done to get it right. Pulling the engine in and out countless times was never fun.

This is the result 2nd time round. The pipe had to be adapted so it didnt touch the steering coloum (as pic) Hopefully this is the last time and alot less restrictive than the first attempt.

First attempt was way to restrictive.

can i ask where did u route and mount the pipes and oil cooler ..

as i'm just doing mine now ?

  • Author

I ran them down the drivers side of the engine. Cable tied them together and fixed the to the chassis rail. Its tight but the pipes are rigid and wont be moving anywhere.

The cooler i made a custom mount that sits between the rad and FMIC thats the only space possible for my build. I will be running ducting in to the location as well

Edited by GIBSTER-TT

all most the same as me then

i routed pipes from adapter over the subframe/steering rack just under the alt and mounted the filter on

the side between sub frame and anti-r bar .. then through the front between rad/pipes

the only problem i have is to much pipe
