Pretty obvious really, but didn't realise just how much of a difference my new tyres would make. Had Falken 452's fitted all round and the car feels so much more stable and planted. Had budgets on before which came with the car and the rear always felt a bit 'skittish' even in the dry. Now with my new MeisterR setup and alignment by Silverbullet, coupled with the new tyres the car is transformed. Stereo on LOUD, not a cloud in the sky, clear roads, tank full of motion lotion........Good times

Nothing like a zed on tune:thumbup:

Too true mate. Everytime I drive it I fall back in love with it. :tt1:

I can't wait...I am still running Jap spec tyres which do a great job of letting go of the rear in the wet with very little warning...blood is still pumping after my last involuntary roundabout drift!

Have been spending funds on ensuring reliability, I am now getting very close to spending some fun money on gereral bling, wheels and tyres. Following your post (Daffy) I am now looking forward to some decent grip more than ever.

I have Jap spec Bridgestones on the front and budget 'Sunny' tyres on the back. I fit budget tyres at the back on all my cars. More fun in the wet (and they never last as long as the fronts). That said, grip levels in the dry are bordering on stupid - only spins the wheels under provacation in first. Lateral grip impressive too. Don't think i need any more grip, but would be interested to try some high-end tyres too.

when i first had my car, coming home i managed to spin the wheels in 3rd doing 50mph... also trying to pull quickly onto wet roundabouts was a joke. So traded my Clear HP166s for some Falken FK452s and hings are a lot better now!

Next step is bushes, i think thats where a lot of wobble is coming from!

Goodyear F1 at the front and Toyos at the rear. Thing is the rears are now pretty much slicks... And on the wet... Well... I can have wheel spin in 4th doing 80mph as soon as boost kicks in...

But it feels completely dangerous... I don't go over 100mph on a wet road (on a straight line) and if there is any standing water, I don't go over 50... So I might give those Falken a try! :)

i did had a period of vitual slicks on the rear, ended up backwars into a curb, ouch. it spooled up in second only slightly and it was gone quicker than grease lightening. bloody busses

Mine was down to its last couple of millimeters on the rear and was just going sideways everywhere at any speed as soon as the boost kicked in ( i even joined the M56 of a slip road completely sideways at over 70MPH at one point lol)... just put a nice new set of avons on the rear and the car has once again become well behaved (well most of the time)

I guess my slicks are grabbing a little bit better... My problems are more aquaplanning related... It doesn't take much to have the rear floating about...

Other than that, I just a matter of having some sense with the right foot...

But yes, dangerous never the less and I bet your thinking: "Yeah, I thought the same and ended going backwards anyway!"

had a little look today and on the rear i have KUMHO tyres. they say super sport but im thinking they might be budget tyres. lol. anybody know how good (or bad) these are?? thx

defo a budget tyre my friend:lol:
