Blurgh!! It's got those hideous viper wings too, that instantly de-values it into the minus figure! :hurl:

BOVs certainly ARE in the wrong place. Would be in the right place if they were in the trash!

Lol... I knew you wouldnt have much love for that one...

Although if those bovs are in the correct place, then mine are wrong :s Weird as the set up on this one is the same as on myold grey one. I must admit, on both occasions I have bought the car fitted with them!

Any BOVs are in the wrong place.

Shut it! LOL If you drive like I do then they dont actually do anything most of the time ;)

Only when flooring it, and they do sound epically cool then.

Cool? Like a Scania's airbrakes? :wack:

Wastegate chatter is infinitely cooler.

Lol nooooo some do sound crap I have to say, but mine do sound good. Had plenty of comments when chasing mates and that they all they can hear is my DV's and it sounds imense....

You have to remember Si, I'm much much younger than you ;)!

I was only a year older than you when I bought my Z. ;)

I'd rather have an NA than a TT with dump valves! ;)

LOL.....

.....if £12k is the going price for a Z like that, then we should all be very happy!! Just think how much some of the cars on here would be worth in comparison!!!!

Richard:smartass:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Have you owned that 7 years now? Hell fire! I was 20 when I had my first one, 23 with this one so fair enough ;)

Nah I will be honest, if the car didnt have them I wouldnt fit them, but the problem I have is finding good recircs (although I havnt looked!) I cant imagine than any second user ones are going to be in good condition!

6 years now. Yup. Longest I've ever held on to a car. No plans selling yet unless I emigrate.

is that the escort front. nice to see people trying for a higher price even though i dont like it lol!!

lol, its not that your bovs are in the wrong place, just maybe not the best... when the engine is sucking in a shed load of air and you release the throttle, all the demand for air in the pots deminishes but the tubbies are still spooled up creating pressure which needs to go somewhere. it would try to exit back out the intake as this is now its only escape, but to get out it has to go back through the turbos causing it to stall and reverse direction suddenly potentially causing damage to the turbo over time. the bov simply releases this air pressure to atmosphere and the most effecient place to do it is asap!

sorry if i am teaching people to suck eggs but i dont want quavey tearing his plumbing apart thinking all hell would break loose!

Cobblers it'll damage the turbos. Not a single car manufacturer fits atmospheric dump valves to its cars. You never read of damaged turbos due to pressure issues either. More people complain about poor running after fitting these things than anything else.

DVs are dumping metered air in an operation for them to make their silly noise and will cause rich running, hesitation and a delay in boost pressure...not always noticeable, but because the ECU is working on the premise that any unused air is recirculated via the recirc valves, the above can always be expected when running stock management.
