Well we finally got the zed running properly last week as the car only had 1st and 2nd gear  (thanks old zed the gearbox works perfectly ) just need to de-limit it now

So today we decided to have a nice drive around London enjoying the good-ish weather, targas off etc... when an old man (he must of been atleast 80+) in his 58 plate VW polo decided to hit my dads zed!! :gun_bandana:

We were literally stopped in traffic on a roundabout, next to the exit (which only has one lane for the exit) and he decided to accelerate right into the drivers side door scrapping it and denting it along with breaking the wing mirror

claims the car to his right was trying to get in front of him (wanting to exit aswell from the 3rd lane!!!) so he accelerated and didn't realise he was that close to us lool

ugh there so damn annoying arnt they! we all have moments of loss of attention when were driving if your tired or bored or stressed.(traffic jam crash anyone?) but the older members of socity really are a pain in the ass on the road at times. they dont seem to understand roundabouts, they dont seem to understand one way signs, and worst oif all they dont seem to understand national speed limit then insit of looking at you like some sort of hooligan when you overtake in a safe location to proceed at said speed! rant over sorry to hear of you bump

omg :censored:

u know they should bring back hanging for that

hope u get it sorted soon :detective:

Sorry to see it Andre... :(

I can't stand old folk driving, winds me up no end and had several near misses. Hope your dad gets it sorted easy as possible, and hope they can match the paint!!

My wife literally got rammed off the road a few years back by an old dear who pulled out of a side road and went straight into the side of her.

My wife was hit side on and was pushed into the central traffic island, ending up on the wrong side of the road; thank God there was no oncoming traffic or who knows what could have happened.

The old woman (again in her 80's) said to the police that her husband (who was the passenger) didn't see my wife coming!!

As it turned out, they both had been diagnosed with cataracts but figured that if they 'both' kept an eye out for other drivers, they should be alright!

My wife was heavily pregnant at the time and thankfully both her and the baby were alright.

The old couple both had their licenses confiscated as a result, but surely it shouldn't take an accident for that to happen?

near misses are part of everyday driving here in london especially with mini cabs and black car drivers lol hopefully everything will be sorted via insurance companies. Yeah colour will be a bit of a bitch for certain garages, but if insurance wont fix the car my dads mate is a sprayer and he can do the colour 99.9% as the car was planned to be getting paint job next month.

Thats just crazy!!! If they have cataracts they should'nt be on the damn road. :ban: Your wife was very lucky. Glad nothing serious happened.

This is where you find out how good your insurance company really are.

Yeah, only a dented and scrapped door and a broken wing mirror so the cost of repair will not be a huge amount, but then again 20year old car with 'custom' paintjob wont go in our favour lol

mirror is @ £80 2nd hand...if heated n folding type...paint n dent @ £250 ...sh1t wouldnt even go via my insurers for minor stuff like that...just get a quote from a local body shop supply the mirror unit yourself and ask the old bugger for the cash

Absolutely what I would do....

Don't go thru the insurance unless you really need to.
