hows the roof work Allan...is that a fully foldable hardie or a removable. The more i look at the car the more i see things i like..get some pics of the donkey bay mate i bet that looks the bizz, typical beemer motor and function over form:wink:

its a removable hard top, its for winter use, protects the vinly folding roof and keeps the car warmer inside

gonna get a load of pics when i get back down me mates place to start and work on it

sweet I have a spot weld dent puller if you need to borrow it for anything.. just thought I would mention it in case you are doing any work yourself bud.

Nice cars these, really pleased for you m8

cheers for the offer, much appreciated but my mate will be doing the work i cant and he has a dent puller

im happy with it, work starts tomorrow night

Very nice mate, looks a few bits to do your hardtop is a nice extra - Have you got the stand to put it on in summer? Becareful not to damage it as they can be a fortune!

Try cotswold BMW for parts, they are a fair way from you but offer free delivery on parts and are very competative on price. Things like your parking sensors, bumper shock absorbers etc. Is the original bumper with it?

I would try and save the exhaust if I were you as they are very dear items from BMW, I wouldnt recommend putting an aftermarket one on it - it will be unlikely to offer any performance gain and not look right. And induction kit is all you need on those, keeps them silent on a run yet they howl when given the beans.

Be gentle with it - READ the owners book, and if it didnt come with one then get one for it. I expect it will have an oil temperature gauge there will be a bit in the manual about the max revs and engine load to NOT excede until the oil is at the correct temperature and dont have a monkey service it or you'll get problems. They are also VERY sensitive to the oil grade, 10w60 is your magic number.

As a rule mine used to take about 6 miles (I didnt exceed 2500rpm as a rule) to get the oil temperature to 70*c plus, book stated no more than 4k till 50*c but i like to err on the side of caution, 100k engine and all that!)

cheers lads, ive had a good read through the book, ive also gonna get a used bumper to keep costs down so hopefully it will still have all the parts in it

I would be suprised if they came with the PDC sensors! Also might find they take the rubbing strips out of them as well, remember the M3 bumper is very different to the normal (obviously) and the M Sport one! :)

been at it tonite and got all the boot trims removed, and then got the exhaust and some of the heatsheilding stripped off

Stellaz, Lucky B++++++stard thats real nice, Love the shape of the e46 M3 cab.(especially with the hardtop on and all windows down)Bmw got it right with that one.(the new one is soooo ugly).Good luck with the repair and look forward to seeing the pics when its done.

best check the subframe underneath aswell, or have you checked they are pritty common to crack as im sure you are aware. certainly doesnt look to be damage wise etc.

I do love my M3's.lol.

that was more of a problem on the 328ci 323ci (earliest e46 range) since 2001 most have been recalled to have that sorted

i really do love those M3's that is prob my fav combination, Black, hardtop, etc

Bummer on the wait fella !

Still it will be worth it ! Nice car.

Was it Cat D, or C ? Or were you lucky enough to get it unrecorded ?

Alan.............

cheers allan, its a catd doubt i would have had it for 8k if unrecorded, i love it even in the state it is in

i could have got it on the jig quicker using someone else, but the guy its booked with is one of the best round these parts so worth waiting

If the guy has a good reputation, its worth the wait !

No point in rushing it and getting a bodge job. You dinnae want it going up the road like a crab ! Cat D is a wee bonus, no VOSA check.

Well chuffed for ya big fella, as I ken you have been looking for one for a while.

Patience pays off !
