Removed the rear spoiler - should knock about 0.5 sec of the 0-60 time with the weight saving!

excellent.. what are they again? wheelmania angelina jodie R?

ooh - keeping them now LOL!!

When you get them repainted. Get the 'jade-r' thing filled in. :) Heaven knows why they called a manly looking wheel 'Jade'. Mind you, the Japanese called the Z cars 'Fairlady'. So maybe it goes! hehe

You could also get some etched centre caps with 'Z' or 'Nissan' written on them.

Updates?

Slow! Its still stuck on a ramp at work! My mate with the bodyshop was going to do some work in my workshop but now wants it over there. Hopefully will be getting it over soon so he can crack on with the welding!

Just a pain relying on mates at times!! So sloooooooooooooow :wheelchair:

Stripped it down at my place so I could save him the agro of tying his workshop up but hes always too busy to get over!!

I gotta say, those wheels are very nice, But really like them in black rather than Silver.

Hi there Paul,

Got a similar job to do to mine soon, apart from the e-bay panel how are you doing the rest of the sill? Bought replacement panel or fabricating your own?

Not having a clue on bodywork I'm assuming you just angle grind the old metal off?

Any help or advice would be great buddy.

Cheers, Rob

Hi Rob,

I have bought 2 new outer sill panels from Nissan (no after market ones exist!) - around £160 each from memory.

Will probably have to fabricate an L section to weld to the floor but that not too much bother compared to the rest of the job LOL!

Cheers for that buddy,

I think I'm going to have to get the grinder out and see how bad it is.

I haven't got any holes in the outer sill but the part underneath where the jack would go round feels pretty weak. Its also previously been jacked up by a mong and has pushed the base of the sill in.

Ok - a little update:

After waiting for nearly 6 months for my mate to do the welding on my car & keep getting put off I have started to try to find someone else to do the repairs.

I had a guy recommended from a friend who does repairs on VW beetles & campers. Gave him a call today & he seems really enthusiastic! Although he mainly does dubs he's a full restoration shop that just does panel restoration work on all manner of cars - said hes done a few jobs on Z32's already & appears to be just what I need! :w00t:

He has tooling to make bespoke panels & assures me that any work he does will be a lasting repair & not just patched up!

He is hopefully coming to see the car next week & will get it over to him soon after :hyper::hyper::hyper:

Ok, the guy come in from the restoration shop & the car is finally going in on Saturday :nana2::nana2::nana2:

They will totally prep the car, welding in the panels, making new panels where required, fill & prime ready for painting.

Have spoke to my mate & once its done its going in for a full respray

Have got a 99 spec rear spoiler waiting to go on to match the 99 front bumper. HID kit should help complete the look

Hopefully can enjoy a little of the car before the summers out then will drop the new engine in with the HKS turbos etc :punk:

Hey Paul, just caught up on your progress - makes great reading! Catch up with you soon bud...

Just spoke to the restoration shop - its nearly finished!! Just another day or 2 to have it ready :hyper:

Just to add the panels for the rear sill repair I got from ebay - they told me they were not a very good fit & needed some reworking to get them on, so maybe not such a good idea for those looking for them

Hopefully my sprayer will get to work & get it all done sooner rather than later & I will be back in my zed after a 2 year break!! :scooter:

Looking forward to seeing it back!! :)

Me too!! Should hopefully upload some more progress pics soon - they have around 30 pics in different stages that they are going to email to me
