Now my Z is all up and running I need to think about making it look better lol.

 

So I already have the wheels in mind - Rota Grid Drifts.

 

Its having the bodywork sorted in a few weeks time to get rid of the rust patches on the arches, so I have 3 colours in mind, what do you think?

 

I'd be happy with either, but want feedback, as one may be an acquired taste lol. ;)

Olive Drab

 

Black

 

White

It's looks absolutely shocking when you go to sell / show a car and you pop the bonnet to show a completely different colour.

i like it in white but then ive allways had a soft spot for white cars

You dont need to tell me that, I know exactly what you mean and it looks ridiculous. The engine bay will be going satin black - will go perfectly with the other bits I've already painted under the bonnet.

i would say red, but i am bias,but as shrek said when you lift the bonnet and a different colour jumps out it spoils the appearance.i know mine used to be yellow.but i bought mine already painted, i guess a few people that have seen mine would agree,,,,:(

Its difficult to say with PS's really as they are never anything like the real deal. The black PS looks the nuts but essentially it will just be another black zed and having seen plenty of black zeds they look no where near as stunning as the PS version. Same with the white. Its not that i don't like black and white zeds but its not easy to choose off PS IMO.

 

The olive with the wheels looks really good IMO, but again i have no real conception as to what it will look like for real. That could be really nice but on the other hand it could be a disaster. Have you got any pictures of ANY car in the colour you're thinking???

 

Sounds like i'm being very negative which i'm not trying to be but PS's make cars look so nice but when they're the real thing they are no where near as picture perfect.

The Olive drab looks better than you would think.

The red is going. I've gone off it, and it would need a full blow over really to bring it back to life. Not to mention I've got new bumpers and things to fit so nows the time for a change.

 

I've thought for a while now that I'd carry out a fairly straight forward change to black or white, but theres a small part of me thats been nagging olive drab at me for some time, but never thought I'd be brave enough to actually go for it. I got photoshop the other day so its the first time I can really compare, I appreciate what isaac says, and that PS is not the most accurate tool around for future projections, but gives a good idea.

 

These pics are the sort of idea I had in mind, but don't burn me lol its purely speculation at this stage.

 

 

Zcenter sell some engine bay panels to cover up different colors, but saying that, by the time you have removed everything to fit them once they are sprayed you may as well just spray the real ones lol

I'll try and find the pictures I took of my silver Z engine bay - That was all painted up in satin black and looked amazing. Shame its off to the scrapyard next week LOL :smash:

I love a redzed but that olive green is great.

One of my all time fave paint jobs used to be on the back of most jap mags.

 

A full page ad for toyo tyres using a 350z in very sexy metallic green, black bonnet, black roof and spolier.

Dig it out and have a look, failing that,,,,,,,,, BLACK!!

Personally I like black and white providing they are plain colours!

 

Im just sorting out getting mine done, I did not want to do paintwork but its impossible to match the pearl white on my car now because the paint that was used for the tint is no longer available. :headvswal so a dent in the wing and a bit of rust on the rear arch mean the whole thing has got to be painted again.

 

Because of that I am going to get a super hot paint job done at custom exotics and replace both arches just to be on the safe side.

 

This is the kind of thing im going for but the materials alone are about £3K then Im having this kind of thing airbrushed on in the engine bay and under the bonnet or blue electrical sparks. Apparantly although these materials are expensive you can touch it up ok.

I like them all too, but the Olive done right, would look fantastic and very rare!! Go for the olive and be orignal!! :bow:, Would be hard to sell on though as it wouldnt be everyones taste!

 

Just out of curiosity? what did you do to change the colours of the cars on photoshop??

That olive drab/matte paint is fooking revolting! I'd say a super white pearl, black or a fresh coat of red.

.....or something 'nice'. Maybe a kandy colour or something.
