Featured Replies

buy new if you can always best, i got about 5 different sockets spanners which i have adapted to get at mines! and i still need my mums help to get them out! (she got small hands lol)

dan.

Mine didnt come out and it had to go into the garage. The 1st job i have ever had a garage do :(

Always best to buy new, and not from Ebay, :nono: I made the mistake of trying to save a few quid, bought a pair off Ebay, got them fitted and 1 was very sluggish to respond, the other was totally fubared.:headvswal

Bought another pair from Z1, got them fitted and no problems at all, other than a bigger hole in my wallet than I was hopeing for.

We live and learn.

they are relatively easy to remove. use a 22mm crows foot on a 12" extension. you may find it easyer if you remove the battery and free the brake master cylinder from the servo ( 2x 12mm nuts, theres just enough give to pull and lift the cylinder out of the way).

how long did it take you guys to change over the sensors? They look like it's going to be a right chew-on to get to!

i have a faulty sensor too and have put over 8 hours in trying to get passanger side one out using crows feet various extention bars and even a propper o2 socket and still no joy. Mine will be going to localgarage now as im sick, quoted 30 to replace (ive spent more than that in tools trying to pull the bloody thing lol

careful tho mate, make sure you definitely agree on 30 quid, cos if it is such a ball ache, could try and bung some more on if it takes em ages to do, just a thought matey.....

Plus if they or you snap the manifold welded flange, you are well stuffed.Mine take 10 min to change LOL. Had probs at Thor getting one to budge.Thought fook it and left them both in and had stainless screw flanges welded into my stainless down pipes = "SORTED" Been like that for years and never had a problem

Im in South Wales and have changed mine, if you want a hand let me know.

Those are the one's I've got sat in my garage ready to fit right now! Bought them before reading the comments from people saying they've been crap or sluggish (how can you tell?).

i think people were refering to buying second hand ones from ebay,

lots of people have opinions on non-genuine parts, they do work just as well sometimes.

Lol! You should check out the thread I just started - one's out and I have no idea how to get the new one in, or how to take out the passenger side! :headvswal

Right, the new sensors are in and working! Took 3 evenings and a lot of swearing but the car's now running smoother than before. I haven't had a chance to check the ECU codes yet though.
