Got my BlitZ socketed ECU today....quick question.

See below. Just wanting to confirm that the key on the chip faces to the red dot on this socket.

Assuming the dot refers to the pin 1 end, then yes.

Are there any numbers printed on it or on the PCB?

Can't see the pic at work but the small notch in the chip should point towards the middle of the ECU

Nope nothing I'm afraid.

Really nice socket though, not a simple push-in-pull-out-bend-the-pins type affair. The chip terminals just sit in the holes and then the handle locks them out to the base. :)

Thanks John! Should have just given you a buzz anyway! I'll fit this this afternoon. Be interesting to see if I notice any difference in powerband with the new chip before upping the boost. :)

Thanks mate! Very happy. That's the nicest 'socket' I've ever seen in an ECU. The proper job! :)

aggree it looks top notch

Yup! That's the one. It lightly clicks into place, then you pull the handle down, the top bit slide across and the whole lot is locked into position. Never seen one before.

Oh right, you're talking 'geek'. Don't compute. hehe. ;)

Stfu noob :D

It runs. :) Nice and smooth, slight difference on tickover, feels slightly more responsive and seems to have a little more response mid range too.

Time to increase the boost a little. :D

Agreed very Pro !

Reminds me of the P1's :P

Indeed :D

It may be a 'nice' socket, but I hope it maintains a firm grip. Those are normally considered 'test' sockets and not for permanent use. Very useful if you want to change chips quickly of course. I have one for my ECU but never got around to installing it. My current supply of sockets are a distinctive green colour - very trendy !

Just fitted the jets. Running 1.2mm and it boosts to about 13.5PSi which is fine for me until I fit the boost controller and run it at 14.5PSi.

Turbos just carry on spooling. Feels far less lethargic than on stock boost and 1st gear now spins the wheels quite a bit which shows there's far more power. Engine note sounds slightly different. Idle is slightly different due to the different map.

Pretty happy with the results. Didn't really open it up crazy, but enough to notice the difference.
