You would get the same quality tyre from felling a 150 year old Oak tree and whittling some tyres from that :D

Steer clear ;) and get some top brand names EVEN IF you have to go get pairs of part worns of Bridgestone, Michelin, Goodyear etc etc!!!!

Linglong.

thats what i got on the back of mine, they are fine in the dry but unbelivably bad on wet roads, especially when setting off, cant bring myself to swap em tho because i hardly ever drive it in the rain

I have a friend who works at a tyre place in sheffield and he really recommends a german tyre called vredestein, he has lots of customers who can afford to put on whatever they want onto there evo's, BMW's, ect and have all tried them and love em, my dad put some on the back of his BMW inplace of some michelin pilot sports and he cannot tell the diffrence either

go for about £100 quid a tyre i think

i agree tbh... not always easy due to financial strains but i wont buy anything other than eagle f1 assys for the forseeable. fk451's are a very good price but the performace relative to the eagle f1s is pants imo. potenzas, pilot sports or eagle f1 are the way fwd :)

Vredestein are pretty decent yeah. A name I've not heard for a long time. They used to have a big contract with Ford of Europe and a lot of their new cars in the late 80s and early 90s came with them. Certainly remember when my Dad bought a new Ford in the late 80s, I remember it having them on.

They are also big in Scandinavia; since they make very good winter tyres. I believe they even make a high performance winter tyre now!!

As for Maxxis, don't bother with cheap rubber on a 300zx; you'll regret it!

Mine was shod with brand new Avon ZZ3s when I bought it and it handled like shit. It was an amazing transformation when I replaced them with Goodyear GSD3s.

Dunlop SP Sport 9000s are also a good tyre and don't cost the earth - I have them now and they have lasted well and give no grip scares in the wet.

Richard:)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Anyone heard of them or even used them?

Quite a big name in the motorcycle world, but mainly scooters, dirtbikes and commuter hacks.

Distro centre is based in Germany, but tyres themselves are made in china and taiwan (what isn't these days?).

Used to run them on a fleet of 40+ training bikes (Kawa ER5, Honda NTV 650) which is a tough life with ham fisted learners around town, and never had any issues, quality or otherwise. Decent mileage, and no more punctures or failures than any other brand we used.

On the dirt (CCM 600s/650s) the knobblies were great.

Probably wouldn't fit on a sports car that was driven hard, but would be happy to run on the sharan.

Not had any experience of running them on a car, but I certainly had no issues with the bikes.

always get some good tyres for the zed because otherwise you will end up parking it up a tree backwards

food for thought only a 6inch patch of tyre is in contact with the road.... when im skint i always go for partworn tyres from walkers tyres there always as new and michelin or bridgestone really good, once put marchall tyres on mine they were a budget set fine in the dry but in the wet were leathal.

Pretty much what I'd expected I guess. Probably ok for the Cavalier but no good for a Zed. Need four tyres so will have to be some kind of "budget" tyre, just not cheap and crap LOL.

I had maxis on the coop 330hp at the front wheels and they managed to cope in any weather.

You should be fine you can break traction with any tyre in the wets. I had slicks all winter last year even drove in the snow and had no problems.. if you drive sensibly.

Any tyre now a days are more than capable it just comes down to the driver :)

For decent high performance tyres, but at near Budget prices look at the Falken 452's

I've got the previous 451's on mine and been very impressed with them.

Don't see the point of spending a fortune on them when they all wear out so quick.

I've got 295's on the back so more grip than I'll ever need on the road whatever tyre I use.

It's in the wet that crap tyres really show!

Just changed from marshall on the back of the bmw, they were fookin crap. Was going to stick Falkens on but got offered a better deal on khumo's. what a difference, Im not getting the traction control kicking in at 80mph on the M-way anymore.
