I want to put the FAIRLADY Z decal on the perspex strip on my UK zed. I know my car is called a 300ZX in the UK but it is a Fairlady at hart :) and they were going on my old zed before I crashed it!

Do you consider this ok, or am I being a chav?

YES I know I cocked up the spelling on fairlady! lol

    • Why don't you go and crash into Halfords, and see what other crap sticks to your car, you Chav!

I think that this is a personal thing and absolutely your call. It is certainly great to keep the Fairlady name alive and I suspect most people in the street would wonder where the name came from. I like the name myself and Jimmers Zed has a chrome Fairlady badge fitted to his nearside wing. This was apparently standard on some early 300ZX's.

It certainly wouldn't look out of place, import ones say fairlady and 300zx on the rear so only the most picky fans would notice.

I don't really like the 'Fairlady' name. About the only thing I don't like about the Z car range. One of the first things I did to my Z was remove the 'Fairlady' logo. It's a somewhat gay name for a masculine car. I know there's heritage behind it, but only in Japan.

It's not a bad thing to have it on there, but I am just happy with 'Nissan' and 'Twin Turbo' on mine. Much more purposeful!

I've always wondered about the 'Fairlady' marque but it's really up to you; it wouldn't look out of place...

Is there a potted history of the Fairlady heritage anywhere?

Yes, in the 300zx companion book, it tells you all about the Fairlady name.

Having the Fairlady badge is down to personal choice mate, why not if thats what you want. I personally dont like any stickers, mines UK but thinking about taking the 2 stickers off the rear spoiler.

I wouldnt want it on my car it sounds gay :xxx:

At the mot station they always wind me up calling it my fairlady. my reply its a fookin 300zx:slap:

'Fairgentleman' would sound gay! (if you're a male owner).

I'm not keen on fairlady either though, sounds like a Rolls Royce or something, not a sports car.

Who gives a ***!!?? If YOU want it on YOUR Zed, go for it! Most people (including a lot of members here) haven't got a clue as to why it's there in the first place.

And incase anyone doesn't know, the Euro spec cars have NISSAN on the laft and TWIN TURBO on the right, whereas the JSpec cars have NISSAN FAIRLADY Z on the left only!

Im sure that badge was from a 240z and not a 300zx

I'm pretty sure of that too. Never seen in mentioned in any literature nor have I seen it on more than a small number of Zs.

i'll give you "masculine car":slap: :p

what drives me mad, is over here i get sick of people saying to me "so its not a REAL fairlady" as if my uk is some sort of inferior car to a jap spec badged "fairlady" why is this?? btw mine was totally de-badged when i bought it,

Women can drive masculine cars though Trish. You drive a masculine car. :)

Would you rather it be referred to as a girl's car like a Ford Ka or something? hehe ;)

I wouldnt want it on my car it sounds gay :xxx:

Dave they wind you up cos you deserve it, not cos your car has a wicked name :p

I agree with Si........

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

i think its a shame it says 300zx on the car.

everyone calls mine a 300,

when its an import fairlady Z.

you dont call a uk S14 a Silvia, its 200SX, and nissan didnt put the 200sx & silvia badge on the same

Im sure that badge was from a 240z and not a 300zx

Im puzzled over the badge.Have seen several cars with the same badge on and only on the n/s and always in the same place.how bizarre is that?
