For anyone looking to run a high power unfused stereo cable to the battery this is quite possible the worst ever way to do it.

We found the cable just in time, as you can see it had already began to short out on the sharp hole edge, worst of all the cable was connected directly to the battery NO FUSE the potential for a fire is real, fuses save cars!!

Oh my god I've seen it all now!

I've seen power cables short out before and the power in a car battery would probably blow a hole right through the floor and almost definately cause a fire.

Awesome - i'll be needing to do that sooner or later, now i know exactly where to thread the wire :p

Hahahahaahahahha! 'Muppet Motors' had that before you did Jeff! That's horrific! Mine's routed correctly along the side of the sill (inside the car) then through the rubber grommet behind the arch liner, up behind the battery tray and is fused just after the terminal. I've done it so you can't even see any horrid red cable. All nice and neat. :)

im surprised he didnt loop it round the fuel rail first .........wrap the excess up around the exhaust and use a crocodile clip to secure it to the amp .......hope he realises what a dangerous bloody thing that was to do ....

Incredible.......................

im suprised it didnt live the whole car.

Keep em coming Jeff..............

why people drill holes when there is no need i have no idea. All you have to do is remove the front left wheel remove inner wheel plastic lining and all the grommits are there to thread cables straight into the car with a draw wire.

Also what a muppet for not using a fused cable when the kit from halfrauds only costs like 20 notes.

LOL

Love that, Might write up a "How To" guide on a nova/saxo forum using those pics and see how many boyed up shopping trollies I can burn to the ground lol

It's bad enough that it would wear through the insulation within weeks but imagine what would have happened if it caught on something in the road with all that cable hanging.

Would probably rip the battery and amp out of it's mounts and instantly short on the floor as the insulation ripped open.

I wonder if he'd replace his brake lines by passing them up the boot, through the sunroof and down to the pedals

We all laugh at muppets like this but it's more common than ppl think, how long is it before we see pictures of a burnt out car and the sad loss of life... If your unsure take to a professional... It may cost a few quid but you can't put a price on life...free plug to me ;)

Sorry feeling a little melodramatic after today

Red to Red....Black to Black.........and blue to fook lol.....looks like some of the sparks that work in the same company as me have been working to their usual high standards lol, we have more electrical fires on the buses that some people have dinners.......very very scarey.

Cheers John

lol ive seen that done before, my mate did it on his 205 ran the wiring straight from the battery all the way underneath into the boot lol, cable tied it to the brake pipes lol.

Regards Andy

very very scarey

Even scarier when the fookers decide to fire the engine up all by themselves, especially when your jammed in the engine comartment at the time

When I worked at a car stereo shop you wouldnt believe how many people did this. I've even seen them tie wrapped to the exhaust then they bring it in and say, "that amp u sold me is shit and dont work!" We even had one, on a 6 month old Passat who ran the cable out of his scuttle panel, up the windscreen, across the roof, held down with electric tape, then into the boot lol.

Wtf!!!!!

I think they should have wrapped it around the exhaust a few times so it wouldn't have the problem of it hanging down!!:headvswal:rolleyes:
