Not that bothered as the Evo has never been a car I've ever wanted despite its amazing mechanicals.

If you had the misfortune and heartache of what Karl went through when he was throwing money at his Z you would also have a crap opinion of the 300zx.

In fact if I went through what he did I would still be in jail now.

i doubt its just the EVO forums that think the 300 is shite, i would imagine most of the modern performance car forums do, and prob some of the older car forums also, not that i really care, as ive said before, i dont care if my car is worth 1p, or everybody in the UK thinks is poor, im enjoying driving it, dont want it to make me any money (i go to work to do that), it makes me laugh how there are so many threads on this forum about how the 300 will be worth loads in the future, never gonna happen, i think people should enjoy what they have, hammer evo's all day from the lights when the chance comes up and not think about a pay out cos it will prob never happen.

At times like these i see most of the whingers on there forums have Evo 7's and onwards, IE they have spend like 10-20k on there Evo as Standered!

 

Just think of what we could have buying a Zed and putting 10k+ into it!!! If they bitch make it relative to monies! Cus at the end of the day a Nova with 15k put into it would woop any of us and any Evo!! So its all relative!!So i laugh at them!

 

Anyways how boring buying a car that wont mis-behave (Steering wise) and you plant your foot it goes and minimal drama as all the electronics take care of power delivery!

 

The Zed has always had a more Mechanical feel (my opinion) to it as in im not driven by computers but im really in command of it! Thats why we all love it (1 of many reasons) and thats why they are better than Evos

Made some good reading, sadly that is most peoples opinion of the

300zx i'm afraid, they only hear about the people who have bad

experiences with them, the people with good z's don't go around

Disagree. What hothatches will do 0-60 in 5.5 secs, 0-100 in less than 14 secs ? In fact very few cars sports or high performance cars will do that.

Take a look at these and pick out some non supercars 0-60's that are just as quick as the Zed. There are plenty. Even a BMW 1 series will pull a Zed apart 0-60

It might have some thing to do with athe age of the people that wrote on the thread i have a few mates 50 pluss that have evos, and they all said that the 300 has a lovely look, and is a car that has to be driven by people, who know how to drive, as it has no helpfull gagdets like the evo

Those cars that are quicker or comparable are very expensive and rare. On the road your up against Porsches, M3's Skylines, Supra..etc Not Modern Hothatches.

 

Sayings its slow and that most hothatches are as quick is *****x.

 

and Thats not to mention that most Z's are running a simple boost increase that puts them a into higher performance bracket anyway.

u mad? my 300zx is the faster thing on the road, the world even.....

The only reason that the bm is quicker as its a 3ltr twin turbo and 20hp up on a std zx

 

Most hot hatchers are around the 6-6.5 area. gti turbo. fords rs/st civics etc etc

......and yes; there are a few affordable high performace cars nowadays that will compare with or exceed the speeds of a 300zx. But hardly any of those are "hot hatches." More like the higher spec'ed larger engined BMWs/Mercs/Audis. My daily drive is an SLK350; which will out perform my 300zx in a 0-60 dash. 0-100 I'm not so sure though - but I'm certain that not many a modern hot hatch will will keep up with the Merc......

 

I also think that since many 300zxs have many years and miles under their belts; those that have not had the advantage of a re-build, could probably not achieve the performance stats they once may have. This may allow a BMW 330ci some advantage; but any Z32tt still working as Nissan intended should see it off.

 

Not the 335 (or the 135 - it weighs nothing) though - that twin turbo engine is superb!

Not only that, but the engines are pants. Was advised against one by a jap importer as they pack punch....but then break.... Also, lets just say one thing.... 300zx, Jun tuned, Bonneville salt flats...266mph...in 1991....the 300zx still holds the world landspeed record for a v6 powered car.... Skylines can't do this, evo's can't do this, scoobies can't do this, the GTO definately can't do this..... enough said....

not true. lol. my neighbour has a 330ci & it cant match my zed from a standing start, plus wont even keep up with it.
