I just started wondering after reading so many posts on how to fix this n that, whats this noise, wheres me performance gone, me pistons are coming out me exhaust, nasty smoke filling the street etc etc, how many of us have a zed that is running mint, surely some of them run well and go like f@@@k, i realise that it would be a boring forum if it were just full of posts like, "zeds fine again today"ha ha.. so is your zed running right or are they all problems like mine????????

People generally only post if there's a problem. So from an outsider's point of view, it would appear that a lot of Zs have problems. StellaZ would appear to have problems every 3rd Wednesday lol. A lot will, it's the nature of having an old performance car, there will always be something that needs improving or fixing.

Mine is running pretty well and has done for a number of years, but there are things I want to improve and replace. A new rear engine mount and rear HICAS arms are the only things that want looking at at the moment.

mines generally running ok, not bad to say its been off the road 3 years, its a bit lumpy when running off throttle and is doing about 10 mpg but its off to zed world on saturday for a conzult hopefully to iron out this niggle, other than that ive had the matrix done and most of the water pipes done in the 6 years ive had.

mines is smoooth as chips just cant wait to get my aftermarket ECU in and bump the boost up to 11/12psi :D :D :D

Cant comment on my current zed since its never been on the road lol, but my previous TT and NA were both completely dependable/reliable and cost less in maintenance than any of my much newer cars.

All forums, no matter what the car, are exactly the same - all threads about problems.

Most zed's will suffer with the same issues at some point in their life, but there is always a reason for unreliability, and failing parts - poor preventative maintenance! All parts have a usefull lifespan.

I've used mine as a daily drive about 50 miles a day, had it for 18 months and aint had any problems. been the most reliable car I've ever owned:)

(hopefully I aint jinxed it;)

Mine was amazing for the first 8 months, then winter came and the car was lonely, so she broke down, every time it has broke down it has been the same part thou!! Which it is now fixed, just got to get timing sorted and she should be good!

Mines runs pritty sweet to be honest. Its my everyday car when im home from work which is 2week at a time then 4weeks at a time, so its well maintained:D!

My first NA was mechanically flawless, my TT was knackered suspensionwise but the engine was sound and always started on the key apart from the top of the rad blowing off (that's age though).

This NA has had loads of niggly fault and i've never had it totally right, the worst part being the clutch which shouldn't have been fitted to a road car - 6 puck is not a good road clutch and it's the only thing i hate about the whole package.

The V8 has a brand new engine, reconned gearbox, every pipe, caliper and bush has been replaced with new and the whole car is 100% free of rust. The window mechanisms are tight and don't rattle and there's no squeaks anywhere so I might actually have a decent zed for once! :D

Hopefully it's going to be a while until i need to do anything with it :hyper:

mines running perfect since i changed the PTU, only thing that does my head in at the moment is the god damm brake pads squeeking, once i can bring myslef to buy some some more and stop the squeeking then all should be well.

Have you tried brake cleaner as a temp measure?

Same as above ^^^^^ Running well but never used but then it should after all the money its had thown at it.

Glenn i didn't realise you were still around buddy! :D

Yours did fail in spectacular style at japfest a couple of years ago lol

Use mine about once a month.

No problems since the Wet MAF preventor project was installed :)

Use mine every day and apart from a flat tyre one day, it has proved reliable.

It is running perfectly since Jeff @ Zedworld gave it a once over at the weekend.

Yeah that was my own fault for high boosting on original tired engine and turbos.......Kaboom!!!! Lessons learned though and it's awesome now but I've lost interest so it's gotta go

Mine runs very nicely apart from a bit of a whine from the diff which is pretty much the only part left on the car that came with the car!
