Thanks znut, that is nice but I think the other one seems to flow with the interior a little more. I am a bit sad like that.

murt, thanks for that. Was a good thread to read (Apart from the dash to A&E! haha)

yea i agree the other one looks part of the dash and more pleasing to the eye but jesus christ mate, have you seen what needs doin to a perfectly good dash:shock:...at least if the matrix goes bad all you need to do is take the gauge pod off and climb down the hole:rofl::rofl:

Whilst I've got a thread open. What gauges shall I go for? Boost (psi), water temp and is it oil pressure or temp? Help appreciated

How about the other option of using one of your DIN slots? I'm currently fitting boost, water temp and oil pressure gauges to mine in that location - they're looking great so far! I like how clean it looks and you don't need to hack at anything.

Ideally I dont want to be taking my eyes off of the road to see the stats. Have you got any pics of yours installed?

That's the best idea IMO. If I was going for aftermarket gauges, then it would be DIN slot or nothing at all.

The one on Z Centre website leaves the gauges flush(not angled to the driver) and the gauges I have in mind (Same as IanL's) have a lip on them so the gauge furthest away's display would be hampered.

No pics yet mate as I have't got them mounted yet - just the boost gauge in there loose at the mo. If you want them angled towards you, there are loads of plates available on eBay that do just that (I think I searched for 3 gauge DIN pod or something like that). I didn't fancy one of those though - I think I'm just going to fabricate a plate out of ally! I'm pretty sure there are a few people on here that have them mounted in the DIN slot - I'm sure someone has some pics for you to look at.

I will tell you now that getting a sand wedge plate and using it to see how much oil pressure there is and oil temp is NOT a good idea on these cars. They tend to always leak! Avoid ebay ones!

My Greddy one doesnt leak:D.

Yea Greddy and a few other ones are the only ones thou

Where else can you connect the oil pressure and oil temp sensors ? I bought an E-bay sandwich plate :headvswal:headvswal

My plate came from ebay, I just used PTFE (plumbers tape for everything) to seal all the threads. I have had no problems so far...

I'm a plumber so if it leaks i better get my self a new job :D

not strictly true murt... there are some that have failed but a fair majority of the ebay ones have been fine for people. the production tolerances on the cheaper ones are a bit lower and in my case the union that screws into the oem filter thread wasnt machined low enough so when the sandwich plate was done up tight it hadnt fully sealed properly around the base... once the oil pressure had built up it pissed all my oil onto the floor.

it was 100% definately installed properly and i realised after removing and inspecting it the the union sits everso slightly proud of the base once the seal has colapsed a little it was bottoming out. i would personally avoid the ebay ones as they can be a gamble but the price difference between those and a greddy is very tempting to give it a try ;)

That was exactly the same problem that I had with the one I first bought of ebay.

I purchased my Greddy one from here:- http://www.nengun.com/

Although the prices have dramatically risen since I purchased mine, the overall quality and fit was alot better than the ebay one.

You could get one made up out of stainless like i did for my ebc and tt
