Hi guys, basically I just signed up so first I'll say hi to everyone :) I love the 300zx and have always wanted one, just thoght I'd ask some advice about buying and yes I have read the buying guide :) So I've seen this Nissan 300zx for sale and it's a 3.0 na, it's had a single turbo conversion and is mounted in the rear. Guy says it's a squires turbo system (no idea if that's good) I'm assuming it's been built for drifting as it has a welded diff, I was going to get the diff replaced for a non welded one as I won't be drifting lol. THe car has 84000 miles and was serviced 1k ago, has 351bhp with printout and apparently has a forged engine. Has a blitz computer an…

My Z is a 91 Japanese model and didn't come with anything. I have fitted a remote central locking kit and associated fob.... As you can see I also have a spare Nissan fob.... Looking at them both apart, is there any way I could modify the innards of the new fob into the old Nissan one? Could the buttons and top part of the PCB be modified so that they'd line up with the Nissan fob? Or could the transmitter and crystal be removed somehow from the new fob and be soldered to part of the Nissan PCB?

well went to fit DRL and painted callipers over the weekend. so drove it to the unit, no problems, drove into the unit still good. looked at some excess wiring which was attached to nothing so cut 2 cable ties and then decided to put her up on the ramps and thats when it all went wrong. She just wouldn't go into drive!!! only reverse and neutral but wouldn't go any further into drive, so decided to remove all the old toad alarm(which didn't work) and the immobiliser set up. what a load of bad wiring, poor connections, but thats done and ready for a better system at a later date. But the problem is still there and the car still won't to go into drive, she is now u…

Due to change the gearbox and diff fluid in a few weeks. I've got 1.4L of Total 80W90 for the diff, which is about 100ML short. I've also got 3L of Motul 75W90 for the gearbox, which is 200ML surplus. Should I just add 100ML of that to top off the diff or would I be best buying another liter of 80W90?

Hi all, I need to clean all the dust and crap left in the engine bay after retrieving my car from the body shop. It's a mess. I don't want to plunge straight in with high pressure water hose and want some advice on the best way/method to get the crap cleaned off. Can anyone recommend a good way to approach this. Thanks chaps.

The plastic grommets that snap into the tin frames that clip to the corners of the front bumper wear through. Rather than risk the time and expense of replacing said frames with new ones (as the grommets aren't available separately), I discovered a way of giving them a new lease of life. In my quest to get the best panel fitment as I could, I've replaced all the other wing grommets I could. I noticed that the lower portion of the front wing (where the very bottom of the arch liner secures) looks very similar so bought a bunch. As you can see, they're slightly different, but fit the same sized cutouts. Fitted. Part number. …

So need to replace all of the bushes on the knuckle shown below, apart from burning the hell out of them. Does anybody recommend a tool that can press them out ? I've already tried using the socket method and they wont budge.

Fitting my big brake setup and managed to do the fronts easy enough but having issues with the back. The biggest being the brake dust shield for the OEM brakes. As you need the inner part of the shield for the handbrake what does everyone do in terms of separating the shield or trimming it back ? Its looks spot welded so i'm presuming you just drill out the welds or do people just cut off the larger piece ?

So, was finally hoping to see my knock sensor today, stripped down everything to get the lower intake off, didn't realise what a nightmare it would be to get the timing belt cover off! Anyway, got everything freed up, all bolts removed, went to pull the intake up, and it was lose, I thought here we go finally...but something was stopping it. Turns out it's a PCV hard pipe at the rear that literally snakes in an around the back of the intake in a 'U' shape, over around the studs (green arrows). There's even a support bracket that attaches the PCV hard pipe to the water pipe above (orange circle)! As I'll be doing the coolant bypass, I…

Someone please help before I torch this thing Just been rebuilt, has run away fine until out of nowhere during cold idle it hunts, then drops well below 1k revs and dies If I keep a bit of throttle on and warm it up it isles rough as guts when until it's warm where it seems to be okay. Took codes, faulty temp sensor, replaced no change. Found the throttle bodies were out of sync and not closing fully. Fixed and no change Went about the set idle procedure. Idles good TPS has been adjusted Had the idle control valve off, cleaned and connector ohm tested. Have the air regulator apart and seems to be working. Plugs out cleaned and …
