What is the best way of cleaning your engine bay ? I have had it suggested that you can just Jet-Wash it, surely this cannot be correct ? or is it Jest-Wash, GROAN !!! Herman

Hi peeps, I've been visiting this forum for about two months now, but haven't noticed anybody in or around Ipswich, in tractor land (Suffolk, or is that Suffarrrrk ) Where I'm currently working there are three other Zed drivers, all standard UK models except for a nice (slightly modded) Import. Anybody here? I must admit, I've been slightly drawn into this forum. Originally I stumbled across it via a Google search, I had a nose, and found a whole bunch of other people who've experienced almost every problem I've encountered whilst owning the Z. Some of you having much more greif than I'm having: Az for example. Its nice to see a female Z driver on…

How many people would be interested in a dedicated track day? This is only an idea at the moment but perhaps Cadwell park, early part of next year. keeping the cost to a minimum around £100 per/head. Would need about 30 cars! Possibly the 200sx and 300zx forums? Comments... Tim [This message has been edited by TT Tim (edited 27-09-2001).] [This message has been edited by TT Tim (edited 27-09-2001).]

I am a bit pissed off to here you all slating Matey for his reasons against buying Mattys car. At the end of the day its Mateys hard earned money, and if he decides Mattys car is not up to standard then thats his decision. At least he gave his reasons for not buying, and turned up to view the car. Matty should be glad of his reasons wether he feels they are pickey, at least they are also reasonable. I sold a BMW this year with was an 89, a lot of people failed to show, and didnt have the decency to call. One guy turned up and then didnt buy because the boot carpet looked worn. There should be an agreement that any member selling a car, and another m…

Having revued all the comments (inc my own) this morning I think the subject of selling your car is always a spikey one,and maybe we all gota a bit protective to one of our own.Matey if you are to be a genuine zed owner and visiter to this site I think some closure to the buying / selling issue is needed in the name of peace and friendship, funny how a small issue close to home tricks you mind into forgetting some of the bigger probs the world has at the moment.my view any way Jeff TT Ps I still love you Matt

Having spent half an evening with Matty lad and hearing his recent account of selling his car, we went for a drive in the rain (nothing new there then)soooo.. 1# Start car, imediately settles to nice bubbly tickover. 2# Select reverse and the auto box responds smoothly. 3# A full turn on the steering wheel and the power assist quietly manouvers the wheels around. 4# Select drive and power away, with smooth changes between gears. 5# Sitting comfortable, clad in leather seats I viewed the smart stereo. 6#Having completed our journey Matty skillfully parralell parked (Still had to catch bus to the kerb lol) 7# 3.0 V6 continued to tick over smoothly and the…

"VAN, you have to keep me posted about the Firebond classic insurance on the 91 UK TT. I have one." Stuart, Got my quote from Firebond today.....£1,450..arse. Bloody rip-off- hangon, I'm paying £1700 (Tesco) at the mo, d'oh. I'm changing to CIS, £1200. You have to bear in mind the following in my case; 1. No NCB ( had a slight crash with a cavelier in front whilst in traffic, in my Sunny at the time, phew...but then I didn't own a Z then so ...) 2. Car not garaged but kept on private drive. 3. I'm a youthful 31yr old ( unlike you old codgers ;-) 4. I'm Single (more prone to keeping eyes on ladies than road I guess and so more risks) Bes…

I know a few of you guys have gone down this road and sorted things out and I want to do the same before the bad winter and having to slam my brakes on yesterday on the M25. 1. is it possible to tell if your disks are warped just by looking at them or line up a staight surface against the surface of the disk? 2. what and where are the bushes that wear out. Can you easily tell if they are worn and how difficult are they to change? Thanks Vijay

Hey guys, I'm considering getting an ALC fitted to my import TT but would like to know how any of you have experienced the difference in shift-performance. Also, is £240 too much for a new one? I thought I saw one advertised on here (many moons ago) for about £90?! Let me know pleaZe. Cheers, Danny

Hi guys, Fitted the new dampers-ok-, but where on earth do you possition the electric motors ??? Motors work fine in turning the 90 degrees required, and fit on the bracketry fine but you can adjust the damper shaft & motor shaft. Im conserned in case 1's going stiff as the other going soft. (doors open there, but how else can I explain it) UK car all std (new) bits. cheers harve
